EDITED

Scorpius' P.O.V

I was standing on the quidditch pitch, waiting for the crowd to quiet down. My first game was against Ilvermorny. I stood facing Delaney who shot me a smirk to which I rolled my eyes. To be honest I wasn't just worried about Mahoutokoro anymore. I'd seen how well Delaney could fly yesterday.

The whistle was blown and we pushed off into the air, soaring above the crowd. The stands were divided into the different Ilvermorny houses. I could see Albus in the Horned Serpent part waving  a Hogwarts flag with my last name and my number on it.

The weather was a bit chilly and it looked like rain, but I didn't mind. I'd made sure that I trained in the rain on more than one occasion so that I was prepared. Of course as soon as I spotted the snitch the rain started. I looked over at Delaney as I sped towards it and saw that she was just a bit ahead of me. Her eyes were narrowed and her brown hair was streaming behind her. All of a sudden she pulled up and went straight up into the clouds. The snitch had changed course and was speeding upwards and away from us. I pulled my broom towards my and leaned forward for speed.

The air grew freezing and frost began to cover my goggles. It felt like all happiness was being sucked from the world. Delaney dropped back until she was hovering beside me. "Do you feel that?" She asked and I nodded. I looked around until I saw what I had most feared the cause would be. Dementors. They began to close in on us, mouths gaping. I froze up. Fear penetrating my soul. I began to see spots and noticed that I was holding my breath. Black crept into the edges of my vision and I could feel my consciousness slipping.

"Expecto Patronum!" I could hear Delaney faintly yell. A silver lynx slid from her wand and pounced at the dementors. They shrunk back and warmth seeped back into my body. I pulled out my wand and cast my patronus, a silver phoenix appearing and swooping towards the evil beings. Together our two patronus' fought off the dementors. I let out a breath when mine returned to my wand. Delaney's lynx did the same.

"Oh god. What the hell were they doing here?!" She exclaimed. I shook my head.

"I have no idea. They only guard Azkaban as far as I know. Come on. We should go back and tell them what happened. Warn the teachers." I said and we flew back down to the stands where the teachers were and hovered, explaining what had happened. Headmaster Longbottom stood and went to  communicate with the English Ministry for Magic. The matches were called off until further notice as not every student could cast a corporeal patronus.

I found Albus and we went back to the Wampus common room, Delaney had told us to go ahead. We decided to have a walk around the school before curfew. It was quickly growing dark outside and we were about to turn a corner when I heard voices. I pulled Albus back against the wall, a finger to my lips. I listened for a moment before whispering, "It's Delaney... and... someone I don't know."

"Qu'est-ce que tu veut que je dis? Oh, bonjour mes amis! Je suis un mangeur de mort!" She exclaimed in rapid and very sarcastic french. Thanks to my dad I knew some french so I translated for Albus.

"What do you want me to say? Oh, good morning my friends... I'm a- ...death eater..." I whispered, my voice trailing off at the end. Delaney was a death eater? No. That can't be right. I rechecked my french and sighed.

"What?" Albus hissed.

"I translated correctly. Our good friend Delaney is a death eater." His eyes widened in shock. Hurt filled my chest. How could she betray us like that? And why were there any death eaters? Voldemort was dead, he had been for over a decade.

"Je ne sais pas!" I heard Delaney shush the other voice, who continued in a hiss like whisper.

"C'est la seul façon que'on vas sauver notre monde et trouver notre chef."

I gripped Albus' hand tighter and translated. "I don't know! ...It's the only way to save our world and... find our leader..." I said quietly.

"But that's not possible! Voldemort is dead!" I shook my head, "But what other leader do they have?" Everything went quiet. I looked to Albus then back at the corner only to come face to face with Delaney.

"How much did you hear?" She asked in a cold voice. Both me and Albus stayed silent in our shock.

"How much did you hear?!" She yelled and I could see her eyes start to shine with tears.

"I- we heard... enough." Albus stuttered and I steeled myself. Delaney's face fell and she looked down at her feet.

"Oh."

Anger flooded my body.

"That's all you have to say?! Oh?! We just found out that you're a death eater and you say 'oh'?!" I yelled, my whole body trembling with hurt and anger. Tears began to spill down her cheeks but she dashed them away before transforming into a grey lynx. Great. Not only was she a death eater, she was also an unregistered animagus. I watched as the girl I thought was our friend sprinted away out into the night. I turned around the corner but whoever had been there was gone.
