Dragon's Promise

Chapter 23

Draco's P.O.V

I had a fire call with Scorpius earlier this morning and his friend Albus was coming with him. I really liked that kid. Lily arrived through the floo first. 

"Papa!" She said, giving me a big hug. "How's second year so far Lils?" I asked, taking her trunk from her and sending it up to her room. After a year of living in Grimauld place Harry and I had saved up enough money to get a new house. 

Grimauld place was nice but it was dark and dreary inside, you could almost feel the hatred and sadness. So we decided to fix up the old Potter house. It was the perfect size and was in the beautiful quiet town of Godric's Hollow. 

"Hi Papa!" Teddy said, stepping out of the fireplace. "Hey Teddy, I thought Victoire was coming over?" Victoire was Bill Weasley and Fleur's daughter, not to mention she was Teddy's girlfriend. "She had to go home first but she'll be here for dinner. Scorp and Albus should be here any moment." He explained and I nodded. "Only half a year of school Teddy, then you can become an auror. You know, Harry wanted to be an auror at first but then decided to heal instead. He should be back from work in an hour or so." Teddy gave me a thumbs up and went outside to play with Lily. 

"Hello Mr. Potter." It was Albus. "How many times do I need to tell you, you just call me Draco." I said with a smile. He was always so polite. He blushed a little and stepped out of the way so Scorpius wouldn't run him over. The fireplace erupted in green flames and Scorpius stumbled out, glasses askew on his face. He tripped on the edge and slid across the floor. Albus stifled a giggle whereas I burst out laughing. "Ugh..." Scorpius said from where he lay on the floor. Albus went over and helped him up, taking his hand but when he went to pull it away Scorp held tight. I raised an eyebrow at them. "Got something you want to tell me?" I asked teasingly. Albus' face turned bright red and he looked at his shoes. 

"Papa, Albus is my boyfriend." 

"Well it's about time." Lily said as she appeared in the doorway. Teddy came up behind her with a grin. "How did everyone know before we did?!" Exclaimed Albus in exasperation. We all laughed. "It was the same with me and Harry. Except it took us six years to realize it rather than the three years it took everyone else." I said, walking over and ruffling Albus' hair. I kneeled down and looked him in the eye. "What did your parents say?" I asked quietly and right away knew the answer from the way he looked away from me and flinched.

 "Oh. Is that why you wanted to come here for Christmas?" I guessed and he nodded. I put a hand his shoulder and made him look at me again. 

"Don't be ashamed of who you are. You are like a third son to me and a fourth child, so you are welcome here anytime you need." His eyes filled with tears and I saw Scorpius squeeze his hand. 

"T-thank you." He whispered and I nodded to Scorpius who led him away to their room. I trusted that they could sleep in the same room as I knew they had only been together a short while. I stood and turned around. Lily and Teddy had gone back outside and were passing around a quaffle. Scorpius had made the Slytherin team and was their best seeker in decades. Even better than I was. Albus hadn't made the team but he didn't really like to play on a house team. He was however still very talented and valuable  on rec teams at home. 

"Hey Dragon, where are the kids?" Harry asked from behind me. I didn't even hear the door open. 

"Lily and Teddy are outside and Scorp and Albus are upstairs in their room. But guess what? They finally got together!" His eyes widened and he grinned. "About time! I'm guessing Ginny didn't take it that well?" I nodded. Wood wasn't a bad guy, he actually came to the ministry the other day when I was visiting a friend and told me he was filing for a divorce and full custody of Albus. 

"He's staying with us for Christmas. Where you able to get tomorrow off?" Harry shook his head. "No, they said it was too busy and had to have everyone there." I sighed. "Oh well. Teddy can watch them tomorrow, I guess." Harry walked over to me and wrapped his arms around my neck. 

"All these years and I'm still taller than you." I teased. "Mmhmm." He hummed, standing on his tippy toes to kiss me. When he pulled away I smiled. "I love you, Raven."

"Love you too, Dragon." 

Harry took off his coat and headed to the kitchen. "What are you making me for dinner?" I asked, leaning on the counter. "Hmmm... how about Albus' favourite? I'm sure Scorp knows what it is." He suggested. "That sounds like a great idea. How about you go ask him?" I said, and gave him one last kiss before he headed upstairs. 

Albus' P.O.V

Scorp had taken me upstairs to his room. He said that we could share the bed. Silent tears ran down my face as Scorpius held me in his arms. I sniffed and looked up at him. His eyes were full of concern. I leaned up and kissed him softly, salty tears mixing with the taste of his lips. When we pulled away he looked at me, brushing the hair out of my face. "What do you think about going for a walk and a picnic for dinner?" He whispered and I nodded. "Yeah, that sounds nice." I said. He smiled and kissed me again. 

"Scorpius? It's dad, I have a quick question." Harry called from the other side of the door. Scorpius looked at me. "I'll be right back." He said, standing up and walking outside. I sat on the bed waiting for him to come back. I lay down and put my hands under my head. I must've fallen asleep because I woke up when I felt Scorpius climb in beside me. I felt him wrap his arms around my waist and nuzzle his face into my neck, curling around me. He softly kissed my neck and I hummed contentedly. That's how I fell asleep that night. Safe in the arms of the person I loved most in the world.
