EDITED

Draco's P.O.V

We stayed like that for what felt like hours, wrapped in each other's arms, afraid to let go for fear of losing each other again.

"Why did you do it?" Harry asked. I sniffed and took a deep breath.

"I did it because I thought that you didn't trust me and I've spent my whole life being feared and used, I thought that maybe I was just weighing you down, and so when we broke up, I lost the only person that cared about me and I couldn't stand the thought of you going off and getting killed because I wasn't there to help you. I wouldn't be able to live with myself if that happened so in the moment I decided that the best thing I could do to avoid that was to not live to see it."

Harry pulled away and looked me in the eyes. "Well I'm not dead am I? I nearly was, I nearly killed myself. But I was saved by hallucinations of you." But they weren't hallucinations. I had been there and pretended to be one, so that he spared his life. "You weren't hallucinating. That was me. I pretended to be a hallucination so that you wouldn't kill yourself but I didn't know how to come back for real." His green eyes searched my face as fresh tears slid down my cheeks.

"How are you alive?" He whispered.

"I don't know but Hermione's doing some research on our bond. She thinks that it has something to do with it." I replied quietly. He nodded. "Did you know we can use fire?" I smirked and he made a funny face. I held out my hands and flames began to dance on my fingertips. I concentrated harder and they began to form shapes. A scorpion, a doe, a stag. He gasped and watched the flames lick my hands, the forms dissolving. "I love you Draco."

"I love you Harry."

4 MONTHS LATER

"I can't believe this is our last year at Hogwarts. It feels like just yesterday that we were in first year." Hermione said animatedly. Ron snickered and she shot him a look. I nudged Harry and smirked. "Almost one year now Raven." I said, wiggling my eyebrows. He laughed and squeezed my hand. "So, what are we doing for our anniversary Dragon?" I thought for a second. "It's a surprise..." I winked and he made a dramatic sigh.

"How about you Ron? You and Hermione have been together for almost two years." Harry said. "Not sure yet. We'll probably just spend it together, enjoying each other's company." He replied. I had a little more planned. Our anniversary was soon. I don't think I'll take him to where we first got together. That was in the room of requirement and we were both crying. Probably not the best place for a one year anniversary.

3 MONTHS LATER

Harry went to bed early when we finished dinner and I went to start planning for the next day.  I had got special permission from McGonagall so that I could go of the school grounds for this.

The next morning I got up early and dressed quickly.

Harry's P.O.V

I sat up and stretched my arms with a yawn. I looked to my left and saw that Draco was already dressed and was sitting on the edge of the bed. I smiled and joined him, leaning my head on his shoulder. "Happy anniversary, Dragon." I said. He grinned and kissed my forehead. "Happy anniversary, Raven."

I stood up and got dressed, pulling on some skinny jeans and a green shirt under a black trench coat. It made me look kind of Sherlock Holmes. I turned around and hooked my arm through Draco's elbow. He smirked and led the way out of our room and through the stone halls of Hogwarts. He pulled me towards the direction of Hogsmead. "Draco?" I asked, my breath steaming in front of me. "Yes Harry?" He replied. "Are you gonna tell me where we're going?" I asked, nudging him with my hip. "Like I said, it's a surprise." He said with a smirk. I gave a dramatic sigh and rolled my eyes, earning a laugh from Draco. I would give anything to hear him laugh like that everyday.

We reached Hogsmead and I knew exactly where we were going. We were going to the spot where I took him for our first date. I leant my head on his shoulder with a smile. "We're here." He said quietly. I looked up and saw that the small clearing with the stone bench was covered in floating lights and beautiful roses. "Oh my god. Dragon. It's beautiful." I whispered. Draco spun me around and ducked his head down to kiss me softly on the lips.

"I love you Draco." I mumbled against his lips. He smiled into the kiss and wrapped his arms around me. "I love you too Raven." He said, once we had pulled apart. His mercury eyes shone and his platinum blond hair fell lightly on his forehead. His vanilla cinnamon scent enveloped me as I gazed into his eyes. He took a deep breath and took a step back. I kept a hold of his hands, still looking into his eyes.

"Harry-" He took another deep breath and let go of my hands. I felt a wave of concern overtake me. What was going on?

"Harry will you marry me?" He asked, sinking down on one knee. He just asked me to marry him. I knelt down in front of him and crashed my lips against his. When we pulled away I smirked.

"Is that a good enough answer?" I asked and he shook his head. "Say it. I want to hear you say it." Draco grinned.

"Yes I will marry you, Malfoy." I laughed, tears of happiness streaming down my face. His eyes filled with tears and we came together for another kiss. This was the happiest day of my life. I was going to be married to Draco Malfoy, the love of my life.

Draco's P.O.V

He said yes. I was going to marry the man I loved.

"Harry?"

"Yes Draco?"

"I was wondering... if maybe when we get married... could I take your name? I want to be a Potter." I asked, looking at my feet. "Of course, future Mr. Draco Potter." He said with a smile. I let out a sigh of relief. I didn't want to be a Malfoy anymore.  Draco Potter. I liked the sound of that.

Hey my dudes, what do you think? I thought it was about time. I mean it was only their one year anniversary but c'mon, they have a bond. A bond. Alright. If you don't like it deal with it. Read, follow, vote!
