Lots of short time skips in this chapter. Sorry.

Also, probably one of the more dramatic chapters. Be excited.

When my eyes opened once more, the room was empty. Confusion came over me as I sat up, but then figured they probably went to get dinner or something. But then I noticed some strange things. Sasori's closet was open, and Hiruko was gone. The large pile of clay on the end table was missing. That could only mean they had another mission, which I didn't understand. They'd just returned.

But something in my stomach felt uneasy, almost like I was getting morning sickness. But then it was different, and my morning sickness had ended a bit less than a month ago. It had been a couple days after the medical ninja assassination mission. It was almost difficult to believe of myself being four months into pregnancy, but at the same time it was actually something that I found myself very glad about.

But something was wrong.

Something felt very wrong.

I exited the room, my eyes resting on the Uchiha whom was walking by towards his own room which was just down the hall. My brother never really liked him, but overall I didn't consider him to be that bad. He didn't talk much, but he could be nice in a way when he wanted to be. I think.

"Itachi, do you know where Sasori and Deidara are?"

"Mission."

"I know, but what mission, hm?"

Itachi paused to look towards me, before he gave a slight sigh. My head tilted in confusion at his actions as the Uchiha moved closer, awkwardly petting my shoulder. What the actual fuck was he doing? Last time I checked the Uchiha hated all types of physical contact.

"Konan didn't want us to tell you for some reason, but they're your teammates. They went to capture the one tails jinchuriki."

My eyes widened in surprise, after all the jinchuriki were no joke. They were all quite powerful, and the two people I loved most were going off to fight one. Bolting back into my room, I pulled on my cloak and straw hat. My eyed rapidly searched around for my clay pouches and I fastened them on before going towards mine and Deidara's closet to get some clay to fill them with.

Konan entered the room just before I sprinted out. She began to chase after me, myself taking a bunch of twists and turns in the base as I attempted to lose her. Eventually the entrance was in sight, and my fingers formed the hand sign in order to move the boulder.

It immediately moved closed behind me.

My hand reached into my clay pouch in order to grab a premade bird before throwing it upwards and making a hand sign. The bird grew in size, allowing me to climb up onto it's back. Sitting on it's back, my chakra traveled to my butt in order to keep myself from falling from the bird.

Thinking of the distance from the base to the sand village, it was likely that they may already be there. My worry only grew, and I found myself in a slight panic. Hunting the tailed beasts was something I knew we'd do eventually, yet something just felt off. I should have been with my team anyway, if it weren't for my 'illness'.

We'd have the best chance of capturing and fighting it if all three of us were there. I had faith in my brother, and in Sasori. It wasn't that I didn't think they could do it but... I wanted to protect them. I couldn't protect them if I was far away. I had to keep moving.

I heard shouts from behind me, ones I recognized as Konan's. I paid no attention. Itachi had said Konan didn't want me to know, and I suppose I understand why. I bolted the moment I discovered their location. She was probably attempting to protect the baby, but how could I live with myself if Sasori or Deidara were to be seriously injured or dead? Knowing that I wasn't even there to try and save them.
