"I'm not going without Danna, hm!"
"Deimara, he has work. I already had this morning off and we need the money."
"But I want Sasori to go..."
"I know, but we barely have enough money to support ourselves. The baby's not cheap, and we're also trying to save up to open out art shop. He has to work."
I frowned at Deidara's words and disappointment rose in my chest. I was going to my first actual appointment at the hospital about the baby, and I wanted Sasori to go. Deidara just shrugged but I rose to my feet, wobbling over to my brother. He let me take his arm, assisting me towards the door. My feet were swelling a lot and it was getting extremely pain to walk.
Deidara took it slow and we walked down the long path and through the trees before finally arriving on the main part of the road. I loved how peaceful our home was. What I didn't love, was the long walk to get to town when my feet were fucking throbbing. Still I tried not to complain and soon enough we arrived into town. Deidara and I entered the hospital, a nurse's eyes falling on me.
Her eyes widened and she called something towards another nurse before she got a wheelchair, pushing it closer to me. She seemed rather urgent, staring at my stomach intently. Deidara took a step away from the nurse and led me around her as he took me to the front desk.
"We're looking for Doctor Han, un."
"Yes, you're Deimara?" The secretary asked me.
"That's me, hm."
"And who are you, sir?"
"I'm her twin brother, un. Sasori couldn't make it so I'm filling in."
"Alright. Doctor Han is actually just over there."
We turned slightly and our eyes fell on the brown-haired woman. She smiled with a wave and Deidara and I walked over in her direction. She turned and led us down the hall, opening a room for us. We entered the room and Deidara assisted me to sit before he plopped down beside me.
"Nice to meet you, Deimara. I'm Doctor Han, and I'm assuming this would be your brother?"
"Yeah, un. Sasori had to work."
"I see. Well, I'm just going to take a look at the baby, okay?"
"Okay, hm."
"So I understand that this is your first appointment. I'm going to need you to lift up your shirt so I can see your stomach."
I nodded shyly before lifting up my shirt, my stomach largely showing. Doctor Han gave a reassuring smile as she got a container from her desk. She stuck his fingers inside before touching it to my stomach, myself yelping in surprise at the coldness. Doctor Han gave an apologetic look before continuing, moving quickly. My eyes followed her movements as she got a little machine. It was placed over my stomach and she moved it around a bit.
I just watched it, not really understanding exactly what was going on. After a couple minutes it was removed and she used a cloth to wipe off the cold gel stuff. She then went over to another machine and waited before turning it around. A small image appeared on it and my eyes widened. It was an infant, a boy, and my eyes widened.
"That's your baby." Doctor Han spoke.
"That's... my baby..."
"He's looking really healthy. In fact, he should be due any day now."
"R-really, hm?"
"Yep, and you're having a midwife?"
"Yeah. That's okay, right?"
