I've lost track of how long I've been here in the dark, staring at a concrete wall. Once and a while getting pulled out and stripped before being beaten, one strike after the other. They've tried to break me every way they could, and they didn't work. My mind had a protection jutsu on it by both Itachi and Pein, it was unbreakable. And despite how much physical pain they'd put me through, I'd do anything to protect Sasori and Deidara.
Sakura told me that it had been three months.
That means I'm six months into pregnancy. It was starting to show, and that was Sakura and I's worst nightmare. The pinkette made sure that it was always her to heal me, she snuck in extra food to help with the cravings. I suppose she felt sorry for me, and she didn't want her village to kill an innocent, unborn child. Even then, I didn't think I could keep it hidden for much longer.
Currently it was midnight, at least that's what Sakura just told me, and she'd snuck down in order to bring me some instant ramen. She apparently 'borrowed' it from her teammate, Naruto. The blonde had no idea when the female had secretly grabbed some ramen from his cupboard, and that was good. Sakura didn't eat ramen, and it would look bad if she suddenly started 'eating' it like it was the only food in the entire world.
"You know, if I had the right equipment then I could tell you whether the baby is a boy or a girl." Sakura stated.
"I don't think you'll be able to get the right equipment down here, hm."
"Maybe... probably not. I'd need help."
"Yeah, and I doubt anyone would give you that. No one in their right mind would want to help a criminal."
"Are you trying to subtly call me insane?"
"Maybe, hm."
The two of us burst into little giggles as the pinkette felt my stomach. Her lips formed a grin as the two of us felt the kick. The baby had started kicking a couple weeks ago, and it was one of the few things that brought me joy. Yet at the same time it filled me with so much fear. Fear that they'd find out, and that they'd hurt my baby.
"Sakura, what if they find out before..."
"I don't know, Deimara, I really don't."
"Sorry, I'm probably not helping, hm."
"Don't worry about it. You may be a criminal, but I've come to care for you as a friend. You're not a bad person, you just got stuck in an awkward circumstance. I know that you can change, and I know that you will try your best to find a save environment to raise your unborn child. That's... that's why I'm going to help you."
"You've shown me mercy that I don't deserve, not after all my mistakes."
"You made mistakes, but that's the past. As you go forward, you can make up for them. The Akatsuki has been lying low ever since they went after Gaara and you left. But... I think I found out how to get a message to them. If you can write a little clay bird and put a message in it, I can sneak it outside and let it go."
"You... would do that for me?"
"I know I shouldn't... but I have to. You're not innocent, but you have an pportunity to change and become a better person. But just hear this, if you ever hurt someone I care about again... I will come after you and I will have no mercy."
"I understand, hm."
Sakura reached into her bag and pulled out a small piece of clay before holding it about my hand. My hand mouth grabbed the clay and began to chew on it as I grabbed the pencil and scribbled a little note as quickly as I could. My mind was desperate, hoping it would reach them. After finishing the note, I set it aside and quickly shaped the clay into a bird before sticking the note in it's beak.
