"Noooo!"

"You should of eaten faster, Kiara," My annoying, older brother Rafe said as I picked up my fork from my side of the table and was about to take a bite of my masterpiece.

I swiftly bend my leg around and kicked the back of his leg, which made him fall back due to reflexes. I grabbed my plate back and caught my fork out of the air.

"No, I'm good. I think I'll take my sweet, damn time eating this in front of you," I maliciously smiled down at him on the floor.

"Oh, Fuck Off Kiara, can't you let me win one time," he said grudgingly.

"Did she kick your ass again, Rafe?" Koda said as he walked into the kitchen and saw Rafe lying on the floor. Koda is my oldest brother. Though biologically he is my cousin because my aunt gave birth to him, but she died and his dad didn't want anything to do with him. So my mom took him in. He was born on the same day as Rafe an hour earlier though. Rafe and I twins but he was born at 11:56 at night and I was born at 12:07. Koda has brown hair and has light brown skin and brown eyes. So no one would guess that we're siblings.

"Don't start with me, Koda!" Rafe warned as he got up and started making a plate of french toast.

"Didn't I just finish you a minute ago," I said in a wondering tone. Koda chuckled as he made his plate, also. Rafe just glared and mumbled a 'fuck you' as he walked out of the kitchen.

Once Koda saw that Rafe was upstairs he says "You know he's gonna get you back right?"

"Oh, I know," I said closing my eyes and nodding.

After we finished our food and put our dishes in the sink Bruce comes down.

Now Bruce and I's relationship is complicated. He took us in when my Mom had to go take care of my grandfather's brother, Gale, in Alabama. And now he takes care of us since my mom can't.

Once he sees Koda and I he starts looking around the kitchen. "Did Rafe come down already?"

"Oh he went down, alright," I mumble. Koda smiles at me as I make a plate for Bruce.

Benjamin, our butler, walks in. "Miss Kiara, your friends Tana and Kacie are here," he announces.

"Guess that's our cue for us to go now," Koda says as he gets up and walks towards the front door.

"Bye Bruce, Bye Benjamin. Have a great day!" I yell back as I walk to the door and grab my back pack.

"Have a great day at school, you guys!" He yells to us "And remember to count to ten before you start throwing punches, Kiara!"

"Duly noted, Bruce!" I respond.

"Kiara!" Two familiar voices yell in unison. I turned around and am met with two pairs arms wrapping around my body.

"Kace! T!" I shout as I hug them back.

"C'mon let's go and get this over with already," Tana sluggishly suggests as she makes her way to the door.

Kacie and I chuckle at her action and follow her out the door.

After a short drive we pull into a parking space. Hank Smith High is so different from St. Maria's, noting that St. Maria's is a private catholic school with a uniform dress code and Hank Smith High is so.... the opposite. But I mean that the architecture of the school in front of us is so much more modern and larger.

As I look around, there are thousands of people outside in the parking lot. My social anxiety starts to kick in and I'm trying to control my breathing. I decide to take out my schedule and look at what classes I have to go to.

As I look through my schedule I notice I have all AP classes. Well all except lunch and gym. And, surprisingly calculus. Cool, I like a challenge. I Look around and notice that I don't see anyone familiar.

Oh Shit, Where's Kacie and Tana and my brothers! I look around frantically to try and catch a glimpse of one of them. Guess that means I have to go inside.

I look at the front doors of the school, mentally preparing myself as I walk towards them. I pull open the doors and walk inside. I decide to look at my schedule for my locker number. I observe the paper and find my locker number. 666. Well that's reassuring. I inwardly laugh at my luck.

I look down each hallway I can and finally after hours, which meant it probably was only a few minutes, find my locker. I open it and place everything I don't need in it. Once I've double checked everything, I close it. RINNNGGG. Hell starts now. I start to walk to my first period class, World History.

I get to the door, stop and take a deep breathe, then walk in. Shit. There are partner desks. Only partner desks. I decide to sit down in the back corner the farthest away from the entire class.

As kids begin to file in no one seems to notice there is an empty chair next to me and there is a chair everywhere but there. Actually it was the only seat not taken. I inwardly jump for joy as the late bell rings as I realize I don't have to sit next to anyone.

The teacher introduced himself as Mr. Thomas and explained that whoever is sitting next them is there partner for the rest of the year. He looked over to where I was and frowned. "Miss Anders do you mind working by yourself or do you want me to put you in a group of three?"

"I'm okay being by myself, Mr. Thomas," I replied hoping he would accept my response.

He contemplated my answer. "Let's hope you can keep up,"

"I'll try my hardest, thank you," I smiled.

He seem satisfied and nodded. He assigned us our project and we started to work. I happily started to do my assignment on 'The Intro to History and Ancient Civilizations & Religions,' I read. On any other day I would have gagged but knowing I won't have to say anything to anyone. Or worse, start a conversation and introduce myself, I was content.

Oh but Kiara forgot that the universe just loves teasing her, as 10 or so minutes into the class a gorgeous devil stands in the doorway. And that joy that she had turned to disappointment, because that meant that she had to actually be social.

Fuck.
