I feel a hand on my leg when I pause for a long time, trying not to cry, and take a deep breathe. I finish off saying, "I used to cut to feel pain but then I cut to relieve my pain. And I promise I will never do it again." I look him straight in the eyes.

He has sadness and empathy in his eyes. He wraps his arms around me and whispers, "Your so brave,".

He kisses my temple and hugs me to him tighter. I feel safe. I feel understood. I feel, and there is no way I can mistake this feeling, loved. I hug him back, bury my face in his chest, and start to cry.

"Shhh, Moonlight, it's alright to cry. It means you actually have emotions. Unlike any other day." He jokes. I can't help but smile and let out a little laugh.

"Thanks," I say in his ear.

"Anytime, Moonlight, Anytime." He says. I then realize how tired I am and start to drift off into darkness.

***

I sit up fast, breathing heavily. Because of the same dream I have every night. I start to ball into my knees and the bed shifts next to me.

"Kiara!? Shh! It's okay! What happened? Did you have a bad dream or something?" Aiden says worriedly as he wraps his arms and rubs my back. I start to calm down from his touch and melt into his arms.

"Shhh! I promise I won't let any of the monsters get you," He jokes. I giggle and try to steady my breathing.

"Thanks for calming me down," I say.

"Hey, no problem! You can always come to me. And do you know why?" He asks.

"Why?" I raise my eyebrow.

"I'll be there for you~" he sings, imitating the Friends theme song. I start laughing.

He quickly grabs the remote and switches on the TV above my desk. He then changes it to Friends.

I lay down facing the TV. Aiden wraps his arm around me, using the bend in my neck as a chin rest. We fell asleep like this, or at least I did.

"Moonlight," someone whispers in my ear. I groan.

"Wake up," an unmistakeable voice whispers in my ear, again.

"Aiden," I moan.

"I haven't touched you and your already moaning my name, huh?" He teases. I open my eyes and glare at him. He smiles. I roll my eyes.

"Yeah keep rolling your eyes maybe you'll find a brain back there." He says. I laughingly gasp and hit his arm. We both start lightly laughing at his last comment.

"Now, get up! I want breakfast." He says while getting out of bed, himself.

"I don't wanna," I mumble.

"Get up, or I'll..." he searches his brain for an option. He smiles mischievously. "Or I'll tickle you," he replies.

"You. Wouldn't. Dare." I glare.

"Oh, I would," he says lifting up his hands. Then he lunges towards me and attacks my stomach. I burst out laughing.

"Stop!...I... your gonna...make me..Fine!....Ill...get up!" I shout in between laughs. He stops and I grudgingly get up.

"You have a beautiful laugh, Moonlight." He smiles as I walk past.

"Oh shut up, Loverboy," I reply and head downstairs.

***

Aiden comes down a few minutes later. "So, Loverboy, huh?" He says as he sits down in front of me, at the kitchen bar.

"Yup," I simply reply, flipping pancakes as I do so.

"I like it! As long as you remember I'm only your Loverboy." He winks. Such a Flirt.

I stick my tongue out at him. Childish I know but I couldn't think of anything else. He chuckles and continues to watch me cook.

"Hey, Kiara," he says.

"Hmm?" I reply.

"You snore in your sleep, you know that?" He states.

"Do not!" I pout. He chuckles.

"Its okay, I won't tell anyone. It's actually kind of cute," He smiles at me.

"I don't snore," I simply say.

"Do too!" He imitates me from before. I let out a small laugh and finish flipping the last pancake.

"Done! Here," I say as I hand him a plate full of pancakes and set of syrup and butter.

"Thank you," He says as he digs in. He moans while taking a bite.

"Seems like I also got you to moan without touching you," I kid. He shakes his head and smiles at me. I giggle.

"Good Morning!" Koda announces as he walks in the kitchen. He goes to get a cup and freezes. He turns around and looks at Aiden with a blank face. "What are you doing here?" He asks adamantly.

Uh Oh. Protective brothers are never a good thing. Which Koda is the epitome of one, and Rafe, but mostly Koda.

"He slept over," I say as I make him a plate.

"Where?" Koda asks hesitantly. Oh Shit.

"Couch," I lie and give a Aiden a look to not say anything. Aiden understands perfectly.

"Why?" Koda questions skeptically.

"Because I wanted him, too." I mentally face palm. That was the best excuse you could come up with, Kiara. Now he is gonna think you like him. Do you like him? Shit.

"Okay," he says partly satisfied with my answer.

Koda hesitantly walks out of the kitchen and into the living room. Aiden is about to speak when I motion for him to be quiet for a little longer. When I hear the tapping of feet going up the stairs I let out a breathe of relief. I motion for him to speak now and listen intently.

"So, I'm guessing Koda is a little over protective, huh?" He says.

I let out a laugh. "That's an understatement!" I say.

"You were so scared when he asked where I slept," He points out, smiling.

"Shut it," I simply say and make myself a plate. I wolf down my breakfast and we go in the living room and watch Netflix.

"You know, Moonlight, this is the first time I've actually watched Netflix without it turning into sex," Aiden points out.

"Why does every other statement that comes out of your mouth have to do with sex?" I question, annoyed.

"I guess when I'm with you I can't think of anything else," He smiles. I smile and shake my head.

"It's scary people like you are allowed to breed." I reply. He starts laughing, hard. And soon after so do I.

We finally calm down and start to flip through Netflix. We look through trying to decide what we want to watch for the rest of the afternoon. I feel content. Maybe I should give him a chance. Maybe he's different.
