A tall, let's make that very tall, guy with a muscular build stands in the doorway.
"Mr. Marino, I see you decided to finally join us for class this morning," Mr. Thomas said like this was some kind of joke. I guess he was one of the chill teachers.
The guy just put on an amused face and looked around the class for seats. The teacher caught onto this real quick and stated, "You'll be sitting next to Kiara for the rest of the year, Aiden," Mr. Thomas gestures to the back corner at the seat next to me.
I probably am not hiding a disappointed look when he makes his way over to me, because I don't have the time or energy to. It's like dangling a bone in front of a dog. Not nice, Universe. Not. Nice.
I sigh as I look back at my work as I start form where I left off. I feel the desk shift as he sits next to me. I take a deep breathe and look towards him. He has deep, dark brown eyes that melt you when you look into them. His hair a jet black color and is kind of sexy look- I mean messy looking, I inwardly correct myself. He has the perfect jaw line and looks like a Greek god. Which I'm pretty sure we're learning about the Greek gods next, since when I was reading, it was mentioned in detail about it. I brace myself for what I'm about to do.
"Hi, I'm Kiara and your Aiden?" I tried to give the most genuine smile I could.
That was quickly wiped away by his next statement, "I don't care and just so you know your lucky I even showed up today, which means that I'm not gonna do this shit. You are. I don't want to be here right now. So don't talk to me and better yet don't look in my general direction if you don't want to get hurt or worse," I. Was. Triggered.
"Look I don't care if your not gonna be here or you don't want to be here. Because I don't think anyone wants to be here. I want to get a good grade in this class believe it or not, but you obviously don't. And I was trying to be nice which you obviously never heard of or seen before. And don't give me this 'I'm a tough guy, fear me' bullshit because frankly I don't give a shit. I can and will kick your ass either way!" I glared at him as I went off on my rant.
We stared at each other for a minute. Well I was glaring and he was studying me.
I raised my eyebrow. "What?" I said annoyed.
"Your kind of cute when your mad, baby cakes," he smiled. Did he really just flirt with me. Unbelievable.
I gave him one last hard glare and continued to do our work. I finished before everyone else, which was surprising since I had to do TWO worksheets.
I decide to get out my sketch book and draw a few things. I put my sketch on my lap in a way that no one could see it. As I was finishing up on my mysterious moon overcasting gleaming misty rays of light over the intimidating forest, I realized someone was staring at me. I turn my head and am practically nose to nose with Aiden. I cover up my art quickly and put it away.
"Don't you know when a girl puts her artwork in her lap she obviously doesn't want anyone to see it?" I said rather angrily at him.
"Sorry, I was curious about what you were trying to hide," he said as if it was no big deal.
"Well you should learn to mind your own fucking business," I said to him with a somewhat malicious smile.
"Ooh! You said the f word!" He teased.
I made a face at him and began to gaze out the window. I saw the soccer field. I could see Koda was playing and kicking everyone's asses with his soccer skills. Although there not as good as mine. I was then interrupted in my amusement watching my oldest brother score a point for his team.
"Is that your boyfriend or something?" Aiden asked over my shoulder.
"Didn't I just tell you to mind your own business? And to answer your question he is my older brother, Koda," I said annoyance obvious in my voice.
"He's your brother?" Aiden asked confused.
"Biologically, he's my cousin but my mom took custody of him after his mom, her sister, died." I explain the exact thing I have to explain every time.
"Oh, well that makes more sense," Aiden said understandingly.
"You know for someone who says not to talk to them, you sure ask a lot of questions," I outwardly say my observation. He looks at me like I just screamed the lyrics to 'I'm a Little Teapot'. I give him a confused 'Why are you looking at me like that?' look. Then he says the worst thing possible.
"Your really," He pauses. "Unique,".
What did you just say?
I was beyond furious and you could see it on my face. Or at least by the look on his face you could. The bell rang. I got up and left without another word.
No one understands me, is all I could think about as I walked to my next class. I could barely hear my name being called in the distance. Barely. I got rid of any negative emotions on my face and smiled when I saw a very familiar browned eyed girl walk towards me. Kacie!
"Kacie! God am I happy to see you!" I smiled and hugged her.
"Aww! What did Kiara have to do today, huh?" She said in a baby-talk voice.
"It was awful I actually had to talk to people!" I imitated her. We both started laughing!
After she finished telling me about a cute boy she saw in first period, yes she is one of those girls who has a new crush every second but I love her anyways, we split ways to go to our next class.
I just hope Aiden isn't in this one either I think as I get close. But when I get to the class I can see that hope is for suckers.
