I walk into first period and sit at my desk. Aiden walks in just as the bell rings. The teacher looks surprised but starts class anyway when Aiden sits down. "Today will be a free day if you finished the assignment." He says.
It seems to be that Aiden and I are the only ones that finished.
"So, what do you want to do?" Aiden asks me.
"Can we just talk?" I ask. He smiles.
"Okay, what do want to talk about?"
"I don't know normal shit like... What's your favorite color? Your favorite food? Birthday?"
"Red, Pizza, February 8th. What about you?"
"Black, White, and Light Purple, Chicken Marcela, and my birthday is June 7th."
"Isn't Rafe and Kodas birthday on June 6th, though."
"How do you know that?"
"Their in my 6th period class and our teacher made us introduce ourselves by saying our full name and birthday."
"Oh, well then yes but Koda was born at 10:50 pm, Rafe was born at 11:50 pm, and I was born at 12:06 pm."
"So technically that means you were born on separate days, I get it," He says in realization. I nod and smile.
"Are you feeling any better?" He asks concern.
"I guess," I say unsure.
"What do you mean 'you guess'?" He asks, kind of, angrily.
"Calm down, I'm just unsure of how I feel at the moment." I state. He frowns.
Then he leans forward and hugs. I'm shocked. "Moonlight, if you need anything, emotional support or if you just want to hang, I will always be there for you." He says into my ear. All I can get out is,
"O-Okay,". Damn me and my horrible social skills. He let's go of me and now I feel cold.
"Why the name Moonlight?" I ask fascinated. "You know the picture you drew?" He starts. I nod. "Well your like my Moonlight. The first day I met you I wasn't in the best mood all time."
"Ain't that the truth. You practically told me to go fuck myself because I said 'Hi' to you." I interrupt.
"Anyway, you shed some light on my life when I really got to know you better. And in the picture the moonlight is shedding some light on the dark forest. So voilà! Your nickname was born." He smiles. My heart melts and I smile back.
"I guess your kind of like my moonlight, too," I say.
"Oh no! I deserve my own nickname," he says unapproving of my last statement. I laugh.
"Fine, How about...?" I trail off. I've got nothing. RINNNGGGG. "I'll think of it later." I say as I gather my stuff.
"Hey, no fair!" He yells after me as I leave. I giggle as I walk out the door and down the hall.
He catches up to me. We continue to talk until we get to our next period class.
The rest of the day goes by fine. Then it's time for lunch.
We sit where we sat on the first day, on the bleachers. Tana and Kacie are talking about their guy troubles when I feel someone sit down next to me. I turn around and smile.
"Hey, Aiden!" I greet. I can see Kacie wiggling her eyebrows at us. And I can imagine that Tana doing the same.
"Hey, Moonlight!" He smiles. My brothers tense due to their overprotectiveness. And Tana and Kacie both let out an audible, "Awww!".
