It's New Years Eve.

All of my friends are invited to my house for the party my brothers are throwing for New Years.

"We're here!" Kacie shouts from the door as she slams open the door.

"Always with the dramatic entrances," I comment from the stairs.

"You know it!" She replies.

"Did you hear back from Juilliard yet?" Kacie asks excitedly.

"Kacie I just sent my application!" I point out. "It's gonna be months before I get a response,"

"Oh," She says, now understanding.

"You applied to Juilliard?" Aiden asks.

"Thanks for bringing it up, Kace!" I say passive aggressively, because she was supposed to keep it a secret.

"Yeah, I've always wanted to go to Juilliard," I tell him.

"And you didn't tell me!" He shouts.

"Don't make a big deal out of nothing!" I respond. "Why would you care were not even officially together!"

With that I stomp away to the kitchen.

"Great Job, buddy!" Tana says, before I hear footsteps.

"You okay?" Tana asks as she enters the kitchen.

"I'm just freaking out," I tell her. "You know I've always wanted to go to Juilliard. I'm already stressed out enough!"

"I know," She replies. "That was totally the worst reaction he could've had! He should have been supportive, not yell at you!"

"Yeah, but I guess I could've had a better reaction, too," I admit.

"I mean if that's what you think, but if that was me, I wouldn't be in the kitchen, I would be screaming at him." She says trying to cheer me up.

"I'm not gonna argue with that," I smile.

"Okay! So get cooking! That Fettuccine Alfredo won't make itself," She says, while clapping her hands.

Tana leaves me alone, while I get all my ingredients and cooking utensils out.

"Food!" I scream after I finish putting out the dinner plates.

I grab a big portion of Alfredo, before anyone else.

Kacie and Tana race into the kitchen and sprint to the Alfredo. Everyone else walks into the kitchen, while Kacie and Tana fight over the food.

"Guys," I call them. "Guys!"

They don't hear me.

I whistle really loudly. "GUYS!"

They both freeze and look at me.

"One at a time," I say.

They sluggishly get into a line with everyone else.

I roll my eyes and start eating.

"Thanks Kiara!" Everyone says separately as they dig into their plates as well. I smile back and continue eating.
