Cass's p.o.v
There was a split second where we all stood still. Us, Lucifer, the demons, the crickets surrounding us. Everything stood still. The shock of what had occurred froze all of our feet to the ground. The lightning, which had surrounded Eden, was gone without a trace. The little lights that had floated about into Maddicus's mouth, was gone without a trace. Eden's body lied limply on top of Maddicus's. I thought something else would happen. Some cosmic event to follow the one that had just occurred. But it was quiet. It was as if the nature around us knew something. Not even the wind dared to blow. Everything was still.
Sam looked to Dean, and then to me unsurely. Malcolm began to walk forward, but was stopped as the cogs of movement slowly started turning. Eden started to push off of Maddicus's body. Her hair was covering her face as she brought herself to her knees, resting on all fours. I could hear her groan raspily.
"Eden-" Sam sighed in relief, only to be cut off by an ear-splitting scream.
"Run," Maddicus shouted at us, pushing Eden off of him and scrambling back to us, "Get out of here."
Eden's eyes slowly trailed after his retreating form, then landing on us. She tilted her head side to side, black veins appearing up her neck. They traveled through her whole body like a vicious pack of wolves.
Her fingers, which began to dig into the dirt, started to lose their color, turning a deep, rich, black. Rapidly, different parts of her body followed suit. Violently, she wretched back and forth, side to side, each time coming back to look at us with a newly affected area. The area surrounding her eyes was black, her fingers, her lips, the tips of her ears.
"Kid?" Dean questioned as Malcolm helped Maddy up.
The black of her veins spread throughout her body and she regaled us with unfamiliar eyes. The darkness seeped through her veins into her eyes like black ink, leaving nothing but a void.
"Eden," Sam tried again, stepping forward.
"That's not Eden," I stopped him, grabbing his arm.
She smiled.
But it wasn't her smile.
It was hollow and grim and hungry. It sent shivers through my spine. I felt my stomach drop.
It was evil.
"Well, what are you waiting for?" Lucifer questioned shakily, "Attack her."
A horned demon swung a machete at her, sinking directly into her neck, black blood seeping out.
"No," Sam screamed, but was once again held back by not only me, but Maddy this time as well.
We knew what was happening. We had seen it before. Her whole body started shaking.
Eden laughed. Or, that thing laughed. She swiftly pulled the machete out of her neck, letting it clank onto the ground. Without warning, Eden swept around, knocking the demon down with her leg. She leaped on top of him, sinking her teeth into his neck without hesitation. She ripped his throat out, not sparing a second in attacking the next demon and the next demon. They had surrounded her.
Sam, Dean, and Malcolm all tried to race off of the porch in her aid, only for Malcolm and I to pull them back.
"That thing," I explained softly to them, shuttering, "Doesn't know friend or foe. It'll kill you."
