Sam's p.o.v

This is not how I expected things to go. When Mom lied to me by texting me there was an emergency, I don't think she knew there was actually going to be one. I really wasn't prepared to deal with this whole operation the British Men Of Letters were executing, but to be honest, I kind of liked the idea.

It made sense to coordinate, hunters always had small groups, but never like this. I wanted to be a part of something that could end monsters. But all of this would be useless if we didn't get through what was happening now.

The Alpha Vampire smiled at us sickeningly sweetly. His dark brown eyes seemed almost amused at our fight. If only I had the bullets. I made eye contact with Mick, trying to get him to understand. I knew he had the bullets, and I think I knew a way to get them.

He gave me a small nod, and even though I still sort of hated him, I had to give it to him that he was smart. I grabbed him by the arm, looking to the Alpha.

"Here," I said, "Take him."

"What?" Mick shouted, trying to 'struggle' away from my grip.

He turned so that he could slip me the bullet, then stumbling away. The Alpha got him in him arms, using his claw-like fingernail as a knife against Mick's throat. Mick gave me a desperate look as I held the gun up.

"What are you going to do with that?" The Alpha chuckled, "It hasn't got any bullets."

"No, it didn't," I corrected, then slipping the bullet into the gun, "Now it does."

It took him a moment to realize what had happened. When he did though, he look impressed, his eyebrows raising.

"Oh, I see," He mumbled.

I took my chance, shooting off the gun. I watched as the Alpha moved to the side, the bullet barely missing him. I cursed myself, then looking to Mick, who stood a few feet away from the Alpha. At least he got to use it as a distraction to escape. The Alpha's eyes were wide as he heard the clinking of the bullet as it hit the ground.

"Oh dear," The Alpha tisked, "It looks like you have a bit of a predicament."

"Shit," Mom swore under her breath, looking to me.

The Alpha, who was now focused on me, leapt forward. It was so sudden that I didn't have time to react as he jumped on me. He leered above me, his Parana-like teeth growing out as his eyes flickered to my throat.

Mom screamed, trying to chop him with her machete, but instead just getting it lodged in his neck. He rolled his eyes, pulling the weapon out and throwing it back at Mom. She jumped out of the way, hitting a shelf that was filled with books.

They rained down on top of her, causing her eyes to dull a little bit as she passed out. I reached towards her, but it was no use as he held my hands down. His eyes glinted with hunger as he leaned closer to my throat.

I could feel his fangs as they pushed on my skin when suddenly, the door blasted open. Dean stood, panting as he shook his foot lightly. Had he just kicked the door down? Then came Eden, of course, as she quickly assessed the situation.

Before anyone could even think of what was happening, daggers were flying in different directions. Pierce, who had been cowering in the corner, now had a dagger stuck in his hand, sticking him to the wall before he could escape. The Alpha was against another wall, a different dagger stuck his ear to that wall.
