Sam's p.o.v
Waking up before Eden gave me time to think about the conversation we had last night. I was fine with her not being ready to kiss me, I mean I definitely wanted to, but I would wait. The only problem was not knowing why. Did she not want to? Was she scared to? Did she not trust me enough? No, I fought myself, she trusted me, I knew that. I was prepared to wait, which I will.
"Sam," Eden grumbled, pushing up to see me.
She rubbed her eyes, pushing her hair behind her ear. She smiled groggily at me, yawning. I gazed up at her, returning the gesture. I sat up, memorizing her eyes, each light grey flake distinctly lied against the shiny silver color, creating a titanium-like effect.
"Sam," She repeated, "What are you doing?"
"Huh?" I ask.
"You're very still, and you're just staring," She explained.
"I'm looking at your eyes, they're pretty," I responded with a blush.
"I've already memorized yours," She said, "They're beautiful."
"They're brown," I snorted.
"Brown is my favorite color, it's homely, all warm and comforting. You never look at brown and think it's harsh," She answered, "You have to look a little deeper, but once you do you can see the different shades and contrast in brown. It's underrated, really."
"You're amazing," I breathed out.
"I know," She smirked, "Come on, let's get up."
She hopped up, stretching, showing a little bit of her stomach. I drug my eyes away from her as I pulled the covers off, getting up. She opened the door, making her way to the living room. For once, we were the first to get there, sitting down as Gust trotted into the room, going to his bowl to eat some food.
"So, what are we going to do today," I started, "Research?"
"Sorry, I can't today," She apologized, "I told Malcom that I'd help him with that person that's been causing trouble."
"I'll go with you," I offered, not wanting her to go alone.
"No, you should stay here researching," She fought, "People don't seem to give information up to men as well as they do women. Probably underestimating us, not thinking we're as much of a danger."
"That makes you all the more dangerous," Dean said as he walked in, "Never underestimate a woman."
"You got that right," I agreed, remembering all the badass women we've met through our lives.
"Well, let's be glad these people don't think that way," Eden said, "It makes it easier for me."
"I agree with Sam though," Dean responded, "We should go with you, just in case."
"I also believe that would be best," Cass chimed in while he made his way over to the table.
"You guys are over protective," Eden sighed, "You can come only if you stay out of the way when I ask questions. I'm not getting cocky any ways. Like Dean said, underestimating people makes them more dangerous. Anything can happen, so we get caught up in something, if at all possible, you run."
"No way, not without you," I argued.
"Hmm," Eden mused, tapping her fingers on the table, "I'm not going to be able to convince you of that, so at least let me protect you, I can take the brunt of it. You can't convince me otherwise, so I'm forcing you to accept my condition for your joining in on this hunt."
