Sam's p.o.v

What a shit show.

"Just because she's working with Ketch doesn't mean she likes him," Dean snidely remarked.

Needless to say, a lot had went down since my last phone call with Eden. Over the course of a few hours, we had somehow ended up with none other than the very woman who had tortured me in the back of the car. I pulled out my phone, eyeing the Bevell as I kept my gun trained on her.

"Sam?" Eden's voice rang through my stressed head like church bells. She sounded sleepy. Crap what time is it? I looked at my watch only to reveal an alarmingly late hour. I cringed.

"Hey," I replied softly, catching Bevell's look of confusion, though she was soon pulled into an argument with Dean, "I'm sorry, I didn't realize it was this late."

"It's okay baby," She mumbled, clearly half asleep, causing me to blush, "Is something wrong?"

"..." I paused, looking to the scene unfolding in the car.

I knew that I should probably tell Eden, but honestly- I really didn't want to worry her. Whatever was happening, I knew that me and Dean could handle, and I understood how much she loved spending time with Ollie. Telling her would only make her stress.

"Sam," She repeated, this time with more urgency, "Is something wrong?"

"ah-um, no," I stumbled, "Everything is fine on my part, sorry, I'm just a little tired. There's just been a few updates that have thrown us for a loop, so it's probably going to take longer than expected."

Technically, it wasn't a lie. I just didn't fill her in on all the details. Dean and Bevell were arguing and I hoped to god Eden couldn't hear it. If she knew that the woman who tortured me was in the car... well, I could only imagine.

"Sam..." She repeated once more, "Are you lying?"

I began to panic. I seemed to have forgotten that Eden was great at discerning when I was and was not being completely truthful.

"Of course I'm not," I tried to assure as normally as I could, "Why would I do that?"

"Ok," She said after a long, nerve-wracking pause, "Ok, well, other than that- I have something to tell you?"

"Oh?" I asked jokingly, "And what's that?"

"Malcolm called me and said he had just gotten a kitten but it wouldn't behave and I felt bad for him and we took it to the reservation with us and apparently it's a bob cat but its still orphaned and its got a bad eye and I told him I could keep it," Eden rushed in one big breath.

"...what," I tried to process everything she had just said, I didn't even know where to start.

"Please don't be mad," She begged, causing me to sigh.

I huffed half-heartedly. I wasn't even surprised at this point, "Eden-"

"In fact, he said it was some of the best sex he'd had in his life," I heard Bevell taunt from behind me at the same time.

The car screeched to a halt, causing me to lurch forward with an "oof".

"What did you just say?" I basically yelled, making sure my gun was aimed at her head.

"Sam," Eden called out panickly.

"You wanna rethink that?" Dean demanded.

"Sam, what's wrong?" Eden asked, "I'm sorry if it's about the k-"
