Eden's p.o.v
My mood changed quickly, becoming more serious. I took in a deep breath, not wanting to have this conversation, but I had come to term with my emotions, quite literally, and I was set. Not wanting to start off the talk with my decision, I decide to ask something I had wondered ever since they rescued me.
"Why did you save me?" I inquired.
"What do you mean 'why'? Why wouldn't we come?" Dean answered quickly, sensing my sudden change.
"Well, I was so rude, granted I was justified, but I caused you trouble, and you still came, and I just don't understand why." I explain.
"Eden, you're family, it's what we do for each other." Dean replied.
His statement made it all the harder. Should I really do this? I thought, then mentally shaking my head, yes, we have to, we've already decided. I battled my thoughts while he said something, making me turn my concentration to him.
"It was partially my fault, I won't eat meat around you anymore if you want." He offered, but I shook my head.
"No it's fine," I took a deep breath, "I'm going home anyways." I dropped the bomb.
I mentally cringed away, but opened my eyes when silence met my ears. I looked around to frozen faces. They stayed that way, as if loading. I concluded that they hadn't heard me, starting to say it again.
"I said I'm go-" I tried to say before being interrupted by the previously silent Sam.
"What do you mean? This is your home." His voice cracked the smallest bit and I wanted to change my mind.
I looked away from his face. Eden you know it's for the best. I tell myself, even though it didn't make it any easier. It took me a moment to think of a response. I mean seriously, how does someone answer that? I go through my list of reasons, trying to pick a suitable one that I could tell them.
-You already almost lashed out on Dean.
-You could've gotten them hurt when they saved you.
- You made your brother sob and made him promise to kill you.
- And oh yeah, you're a homicidal maniac with anger issues that could literally kill everyone and your Buddhist persona is hanging on by literally a granddaddy long leg's eyelash.
Oh, I picked one.
"I have houseplants I have to water." I stutter, *mentally face palms*. Well, it's true. Ugh, I'm so stupid. He just told you this was your home, and you said you're leaving him for houseplants. Great.
They eyed me suspiciously, causing me to move under their stare, feeling uncomfortable. I looked around awkwardly, not meeting their eyes.
"Eden." Castiel warned after inspecting the Winchester's faces, his eyes lingering on Dean before looking to me.
This was so not fair. I felt like I was getting scolded by my parents for lying. He knew I didn't lie, unless life or death, although, yeah, I could maybe understand why he was mad. I gave him a look. He backed off, now understanding. He sighed, not liking my reasoning.
"Eden," He repeated, this time more gently, "You don't have to."
Both Sam and Dean looked up with confusion in their eyes. Looking at each other, then looking at me as if to ask 'what do you have to do?'. I smiled back sadly.
