7: I knew you would come back

This time, to put an end on anything that could possibly happen, Yue Yue chose to meet in a cafe. She even went there 10 minutes earlier, to make sure there's no trace of bricks.

8 pm, Wu arrived at the venue. Yue Yue felt absentminded when she saw him getting closer and closer. Wu didn't look as boring as he was before slimmed down, but there's still a harpy aura present in him, which is a huge turn off.

Seeing her again after so many days, Wu felt a surge in his heart, then he forced it down.

'There's no scar left on your head?' Yue Yue concerned. 

Wu caressed his head and laughed, 'God wouldn't leave a scar on this handsome face on mine.'

Same narcissistic, same ridiculous. When the same words came from the wealthy, it makes them look like bad boys, making girls' hearts race; but when the same words came from Wu's mouth, why does it makes me want to slap him?

'This is my gift for you, a platinum necklace,' Wu said.

Alluring people would say 'Open up' at this situation, giving their partners a surprise; but for Wu, he just had to say it loud and clear.

When he pushed the velvet jewellery box towards Yue Yue, he had realised that she already had a necklace on her neck. A diamond necklace, which he hadn't seen it before. 

'Who gave you that necklace?' Wu asked.

Yue Yue's callous fingers brushed across the necklace gingerly like it's a precious to her. 

'A friend.'

Wu's hand stopped pushing that box, probed, 'If I gave you this, will you still accept it?'

Yue Yue smiled gracefully, 'Since you'd bought it, I might as well keep it. Can't just let it go to waste right?'

Wu's heart suspended for a moment before falling again, eyes gleaming with happiness, he even stood up to help her wear it.

'I have to take off this necklace, it's so troublesome. I'll wear it next time.'

Wu  just lifted his butt from the chair, then sat back on it again.

'Sir, anything for you?'

Wu noticed the outraging prices for a cup of coffee, replied immediately, 'No thanks, I'm good.'

Wu didn't detect the glare from Yue Yue.

'Since you accepted my gift, you say...we just go back how we were back then, let's not break up?'

Blood whizzed into Yue Yue's eyes, as if she heard something not nice.

"Wu, what do you take me as? If I really made up with you just because of a platinum necklace, isn't it a bit superficial? If the purpose of you giving this necklace is just to reconcile with me, then I'm sorry, I rather not have it.'

Then, she took out the velvet box from her bag, reluctantly returned it to Wu.

Wu did a huge decision on returning the box, like she's gambling her own life. Betting that Wu will not take back the box, if he has any conscience.

But she lost.

'Okay then.'

Wu took back the box defeatedly. When he reached out to the box, Yue Yue even pulled back it slightly but he didn't notice.

'So you're saying, you still want to break up with me?' he asked.

"Of course! Why not?!' Yue Yue enraged.

'Must!' Yue Yue said.

Third time hearing this, Wu still felt despaired; but as compared to the last two times, he felt better this time. As always, he asked the same question again.

'Let's come clean then, other than I'm fat, I'm useless, I'm stingy, what else?'

Yue Yue is still brooding over the necklace, she can't possibly say something nice.

'I look down on you because you earn so little every month! Resign if you dare, let's see if you, being a university graduate, can still support yourself after leaving that company of yours!'

Wu said toughly, 'I can't resign, but, I can die for you.'

Yue Yue almost fainted. Oh my god, this guy is literally a gem, why did he have to be my boyfriend?

'Let me tell you Wu, you couldn't find any brick here within a perimeter of a mile. Your method doesn't work anymore.'

'Who said that? I have one here with me,' Wu said.

Yue Yue scanned the cafe nervously, 'Impossible, I've searched this place throughout.'

Wu took out his bag calmly, but Yue Yue snatched it in a blink of an eye. She tore open the bag, there really is a brick! Luckily she acted fast, otherwise the same scene will reenact again.

What the hell! He really brought a brick himself! Wu, you're brilliant!

Who would have thought, the climax is nearing.

Wu pulled down the zipper of his jacket, took out a brick from the inside of his jacket, then smashed onto his skull.

Yue Yue pupils dilated, scowled at Wu.

'You're something!'

Wu covered his wound with his hand. He looked serene, smiled with a hint of perseverance.

'I managed to be praised by you, it's worth it!'

This time, no one helped Wu to the clinic, he went there by himself.

It's past nine, many shops had closed. Usually Shuai had closed the clinic gates, but its open today. Shuai stood at the entrance, browsed through every passerby carefully. 

Finally, his target appeared.

'What are you doing here? It's so late now,' Wu said, amazed.

Shuai snickered, 'I'm waiting for you, I knew you would come.'

Wu flustered.

Shuai raised his chin, 'What are you waiting for? Come in!'

They both went in one after the another.
