8: The necklace is gone

An evening after a week, Wu came to the clinic to get his bandage changed, as usual.

Shuai slowly unraveled the bandage on Wu's head. His curled, black eyelashes fluttered and scoffed, 'Your head is getting tough. It's been few days now and it has already scabbed.'

Wu laughed jokingly, 'How much more days should it take to recover completely?'

'About a week!'

Wu started talking to himself.

'What are you thinking again?' Shuai hit Wu with his knee, 'You're not thinking how do hit your head next time, are you?! Let me warn you! If you do this again, please don't come to my clinic again. After happening for a few times, I'm not sure you like me or her.' 

Wu scratched his nape, laughed awkwardly.

After changing the bandage, it looks like it going to rain. Wu wanted to stay longer to chat with Shuai, but not after seeing the weather. He put on his jacket hurriedly, but Shuai gave him an umbrella before he left. 

'Thanks! I'll return you next time!'

Wu ran towards the streets as a lightning flashed.

Shuai didn't go back home too, he intended to stay in the clinic for the night. After closing the door and all the windows, he went inside the room. It also started to rain, rain drops hitting the windows. Shuai is not feeling tired yet, he sat cross-legged in front of the computer. All he could hear is the commotion outside the window and the click clacking of his keyboard.

After staying up for three hours, his eyes are all blood shot. Shuai is finally feeling tired, he fell asleep as soon as his head hit the bed.

'Bang! Bang! Bang'

Three powerful knock.

Shuai turned his body annoyingly, continued sleeping.

'Bang bang bang bang...'

Then it came raining on the door.

What the hell! Shuai is outraged, who the fuck is knocking on the door at this hour?! He slipped on his slippers, stomped his way towards the door and shouted.

'Who is this?!'

Shuai, is me!' Wu replied, he sounds like he's in a hurry.

Shuai's face turned white. Don't tell me he went to do something stupid and came back?

Opening the gate, Wu is standing in front of the entrance without any trace of self injury. His bandage is still there, just that his shoes are wet.

'I thought you did something foolish again in this rainy day.'

'You're joking, why should I go find her at 1 am in the morning?'

'It's 1 already?...' Shuai said half asleep, he rubbed his face, then shouted at Wu, 'Why are you here then?!'

'I borrowed some money from my mom and bought a necklace, but Yue Yue said she doesn't want it. I'm thinking to refund it tomorrow, I still could return the money to my mom. But it's gone, I wanted to see if it's here with you. I saw your room light is still on so I knocked.'

Shuai scratched his head annoyingly, motioned Wu to come in.

Wu searched the whole clinic, high and low. He even shone the drain with a torch, but the necklace is nowhere to be found. 

'When is the last time you saw the necklace?' Shuai asked.

Wu recalled, 'I think it's when I gave her, but after that I didn't notice it.

Shuai is puzzled, he told Wu to report every detail of him giving her the necklace. After listening, Shuai understood everything, he snickered and looked at Wu in silence.

'There's no need to find it anymore, you can't get it back.'

'Why?' Wu asked dumbfounded.

Shuai knew he's a bit insensitive, just told him everything.

'She took your necklace, do you understand?'

Wu shook his head, he said firmly, 'It's impossible, she said she doesn't want it. I even kept it in my bag, she couldn't possibly took it back again, could she?.'

'Let's see then.'

Wu took it lightly, 'It's good that she took it too, maybe she became soft-hearted after she saw me commit suicide, then kept it to her herself secretly.

Shuai poked Wu's head, scolded, 'If I were Zeus, I would have fried you!'
