13: Snake guy

'Guo Zi, your Flat Head is back!' someone shouted from outside.

Guo stared at his reflection in a mirror, his narrow face full of unshaven beard. A pair of slitty eyes, red veins are visible on his sclera, he looked like he hasn't had a good sleep recently. But actually, he looked like this since he was born. He has very defined lips with a sharp chin, even though he looked very intimidating but he loves to smile a lot. 

Guo walked out of his house, saw a glass terrarium placed on the floor, which was entrenched by his beloved. Flat Head is actually a king cobra, Guo likes to play with snakes, but he doesn't keep one. When he's feeling it, he would hunt for snakes of special breeds, then he would find someone to keep it for him and he would take it out sometimes.

'Looks like someone got fat.' Guo bent down to take a good look.

The king cobra inside the terrarium has a magnificent, black figure, with its body against the glass wall and eyes peering out of the terrarium. It eyes filled with a bloody murderous look.

'Tsk... What's with that look,' Guo turned to face Li Wang at the side.

Li reminded Guo, 'It's almost time now, let's go, better don't let there wait for too long.'

Guo waved his hand, 'Bring the Second Master to the car.'

The two guys standing beside came forward, picked up the glass terrarium and moved into the car.

They were halfway to their destination when Li asked Guo, 'Should we take Xiao Long there?'

Guo's face became dull, 'Why should we?'

'Didn't we agree that we don't play with money this time?'

Guo tugged his lips, 'We'll find one now.'

They made their journey to the city, they were almost reaching Chi Cheng's place. Chi is famous in the list of wealthy families in the city, people gave him the term 'Snake Guy'. He doesn't do much every day, he just stays at home and looks after the snakes. Sometimes, he would keep some rats or pigeons to feed them to the snakes, he's basically living the life of a retiree.

Chi and Guo are different. Guo likes to play with snakes but he doesn't keep them himself, the snakes that he bought are kept by someone else, he just plays with them when he's free. However, Chi is really keeping the snakes as if they're his partner, not only he feeds and trains them himself, he would always keep them by his side even when he's sleeping.

During holidays, Guo would bring his snake here for a battle, mostly for gambling.

When Guo arrived, Chi was teasing his bamboo snake with a branch. He gave the snake a morning kiss then twisted his head facing Guo's direction, he squinted his eyes to form a thin line.

Guo's facial features were delicate, faintly evil looking and are unpredictable; Chi has deep set features, thick full brows paired with gloomy eyes. They knew each other for many years, their fathers were best friends so everyone else thought they were too best friends.

Actually, they hated each other.

There's a pool outside the house, especially for snake battling, there was wire gauze surrounding it. Chi took out his favorite battle snake, a 60 pounds python. It looks like its owner, it's burly and it has sharp eyes. Both kings of snakes that wouldn't exist in a common environment met each other now, they could have a showdown.

Other than Guo and Chi, there was a crowd behind them. Some followed Guo over, some were Chi's underlings, they crowded the place to witness an intense battle.

King cobra is a ferocious and agile snake, packed with deadly poison; Python is a muscular snake, its burst is beyond imagination. These two kinds of snakes fighting each other, it will be an extreme showdown.

After a while, the king cobra started to attack, charging towards python at a lightning speed. The python almost couldn't dodge it, it twisted its body and now they're tangled with each other. The python suppressed the cobra with its body weight and they started to roll around the ground. 

Guo's hands were crossed in front of his chest with a cigarette in his mouth, spectating the exciting battle.

 Chi didn't make any sound, his eyes were lifeless like a stagnant lake, uncertain of what's in his mind right now.

'Oh my god!'

Someone standing behind Chi shouted, then the python was being attacked. The cobra bit it, it almost bit its critical part. The teeth of a cobra were quite short, the skin of the python was thick and its blood has the ability to detoxify so it wouldn't die immediately. The python was enraged after getting bitten, it assaulted and bit the cobra. Its bones dislocated and shattered.

Guo had an uncertain smile on his face. 

Chi quietly placed his hands inside his pocket, there's a thumb-sized snake inside, twisting its body around. Upon touching its cold body, Chi's heart ease in relief.
