A Friend's Baby!!!!

Two months later...late one night, I got a call from Matt:

C: "Hey Matt! Is it time?"

M:*laughs* : "Yes it is. I called and asked Mrs. Hermann to bring Emily to you guys' house. We're already at Med."

C: "Alright! Cool, I'm coming!"

M: "Hurry!"

C: "ok!"

I hung up and changed my clothes, pulled my hair back, and brushed my teeth. I left a note for Jimmy, grabbed my keys and purse, raced to my car, and rushed to the hospital.

I got there as swift as a bird, but cautiously. I parked and locked my car and rushed to the delivery room where Matt and Gabby were. I greeted them and closed the door. "Thank God you're here!" Gabby said, gasping between contractions. "I'm glad to be here." I said, we laughed a little. I walked to and stood by Gabby. She held mine and Matt's hand as she pushed. Two hours of pushing and breathing later, their baby was born! "It's a girl!" Dr. Charles exclaimed. We cheered as the baby took her first breath and cried.

A few minutes later, after the baby was cleaned and everything...and after I took a picture of Matt and Gabby holding the baby, I smiled and asked Matt and Gabby, "What are y'all going to name her?" They looked at each other and said, "Caroline Rose Casey." "Beautiful name for a beautiful baby." I complimented. They thanked me and we talked a little bit longer until I had to go home and get ready for work. Before I left, I congratulated them and hugged them.
