The alarm went off as soon I stepped foot in the vehicle bay. I rushed to suit up, grab my gear, and hop in the truck with Severide, Cruz, Otis, Casey, and Stella and we rushed to the scene of the emergency. My heart sank as I heard the name of the twins' school and "unconscious child". "Oh God, please don't let this be any of my kids." I prayed. We arrived shortly after. I hopped out of the truck. Jimmy, Sylvie, Gabby and I walked in. We found a crowd in the hallway. "Alright, everyone! Make a hole!" Jimmy yelled. Everyone cleared out so that we could assess the situation. "Mama?" I heard Chris call for me. He was sitting and crying next to Hope, who was unconscious. I picked him up and let Gabby and Sylvie take care of her while Jimmy, Chris, and I watched helplessly. Hermann and Severide came in and led us out when Gabby and Sylvie finally got Hope awake and alert and put her on the stretcher.

An hour later at Med, Dr. Halstead told Jimmy and I that Hope had a heart murmur and would have to be on medication to lessen the symptoms. "How did this happen?" I asked Dr. Halstead. "We ran tests on her. Her heart murmur is hereditary, unfortunately. I will refer her to a pediatric cardiologist.  She will have to stay here for a week or two." He explained. I nodded. He and Jimmy talked while I went in and sat by Hope, who was awake at this point. I burst into tears. "Mama, I will be okay." She assured me. I sniffed and said, "You're right, baby." She wiped my tears and I held her hand.  She told me that she and Chris were walking to another class when she collapsed. She told me that her chest felt weird and she became faint. Chris caught her as she fell. I was taken aback. I told her that I would be right back. With a smile on and tears running down my face, I ran to the waiting room, knelt down in front of Chris and hugged him. "What's this about?" He asked, baffled. I wiped my tears and told him, "You are a hero." He hugged me back and said, "I did the right thing, but I'm not a hero." We both laughed. Jimmy, Hermann, and I had to go back to work.
