She wiped away her tears as she glared her blurry eyes at the moon, which is smiling at her.

"Pathetic," she whispered between her sobs, she tightens her grip onto her mother's old and ragged blanket. "Ma, help... me."

Her hands and knees started to shake. Once that first tear broke free, the rest would follow in an unbroken stream. Summer bent forward from where she stood and pressing her palms on the window pane, she began to cry with the force she hasn't experienced before.

Back then, whenever her mom calls her for dinner, she'd run her way towards Sam's room and carry her to the dining room where they usually eat together, as a family. Sadly, that was nine years ago. That was the last time she felt it; she felt loved, she felt happiness, and she felt her, her mom... her real mom.

"Sam," ate MJ knocked three times on her door, "hinahanap ka ng daddy mo, nakahanda na 'yung pagkain niyo, may mga bisita."

With a little courage and strength she has left, Sam replied, "Thanks ate, but I'm not hungry."

"O, sige. Ako na bahala, dadalhan nalang kita rito."

When she heard ate MJ walked away from her door, the force she's feeling in her chest doubled that she had to get a grip on her chest, thinking that maybe... just maybe, the pain would go away.

Sam blinked her eyes when she heard the tapping of raindrops on the huge window in front of her, she saw it, and somehow it lifted her up. It's almost summer and out of nowhere, it rained. It feels like God hears her just now and he's sending her His sympathies.

Her whole body screamed in pain, she winced every time she takes a step so she slowly turned her back from the window, and leaned on it, thinking how it'd be nice to dance in the rain, right now.

But unfortunately, she remembered that she couldn't.

She gently strokes her right shoulder with her left hand, remembering what happened that day, and it still hurts. Her sides were hurting really bad and she knew that she'll keep having these kinds of days for the rest of her life.

She doesn't know what to do anymore, all she could ever think of was to lay in her bed and think of all the possible things her father could do to her, sometimes in the middle of the night she thinks of possible ways on how to end her life, to end her pain.

A lot of times, she tried running away but ended up being found by the town's folk. At the end of the day, the people would receive rewards from her father while she receives a hard beating. She tried fighting back a few times but he always overpowered her and she came out worse.

"Sam!"

Sam's heart started to race because she knew whose voice that was, she stood up from her window pane when she heard loud footsteps approaching her door. And then again, he shouted, "Sam! Hindi mo ba ako narinig, ha!"

Her eyes dilated, and her heart started to beat faster than usual. She hurriedly went on her knees and crawled next to her bed to reach the box under it. During the process, she cried from the pain it gave her; her body couldn't take it anymore, she feels like if she moved another muscle she could literally just die of pain.

But all she was thinking is that she has to hide her mom's blanket, she really have to—

"Sam!"

She flinched when her door swung open; she even hit her head on her bedside table but she didn't make a sound because she knew what could happen if she did. She had to be strong, she couldn't let her father see her crying.
