7 - Try

Maddie and I arrived at St. Terrese cabin, this one is smaller than the Devesse cabin pero napakaluwang sa loob. The wooden floor is covered by a red furry carpet, there are black and red sofas in the middle of the cabin and behind it is a Chinese-style divider. Terrence and the boys' voices could be heard from the other side of the divider, it already brought my lips into a smile.

Maddie ushered me behind the divider, and I couldn't help but smile widely in their presence. Terrence and Justin are sitting on the floor playing a videogame from the flat screen TV; Yuan, Nick, Hobi and Jennie are in front of a wall with a lot of colorful, beautifully captured photographs hanging on it, it was as if they were judging it.

But what totally captured my interest is in Jin and Jimin's direction, may isang rocking chair sa sulok ng cabin and to my surprise, it has wheels on it.

"Hyung," Tawag ni Jimin kay Jin na naka-pink, "Bakit kaylangang lagyan ng gulong 'tong rocking chair ni Lola?"

Jin stood right beside Jimin and examined the rocking chair for a while, after a grand second he burst out laughing turning his face into pure red.

Napakamot nalang ng ulo si Jimin at ngumiti, he might be thinking what's wrong with him just like everybody in this room does.

"Hyung, manahimik ka nga." Terrence annoyingly said.

"Bakit kaylangang lagyan ng gulong ang rocking chair ni Lola?" Jin repeated, "Kasi para makapag rock and roll siya—"

Jin leaned his head backward and he started laughing, hysterically. He almost sounded like a window being wiped. Makalipas ang ilang segundo, sumunod na ring tumawa si Jimin, slapping his knees as he laughed with Jin.

Everybody turned their heads toward Jin, and they chuckled for a while, even Maddie who is beside me, nakitawa na rin. Am I the only one who didn't get that joke? I only chuckled because of the squeaking sound that Jin makes when he laughs.

Inikot ng mga mata ko ang kwarto, and it's full of gadgets and such, PC's, TV's, DSLR's, PS3's, and much more. I feel like I'm in an arcade store or something. Hinila ako ni Maddie papunta sa direksyon nina Yuan, for me to see a much better view of the photographs on the wall. Ito 'yung sinasabi ni Maddie kanina, these are taken by Yuan. 'Best portfolio – 2016' is posted above the pictures.

Gumilid si Nick sa kaniyang kinatatayuan at tumingin sa akin. "What do you think? Try to guess what the theme of this is?"

Yuan, Jennie and Hobi turned their heads at me; it was as if they wanted to ask me the same question.

"Uhhh—" I couldn't utter a single word. I haven't seen the whole photos, so I wouldn't know what to say.

At the very up most part on my left side, there is a picture of a school of colorful fishes underwater. It was well captured, the colors blended well that my eyes would want to take more of it. The second picture shows, a dancing woman, in a native costume. The third picture depicts a kid, sleeping in the streets, with his ragged clothes. The next one is in an old library; a girl is studying her book. I squinted my eyes as I moved my head closer to the picture, the girl looked familiar to me, it's like as if I've seen her before.

"So, what can you say?" Nick snapped.

Napaatras ako mula sa kinatatayuan ko, at pinagmasdan ko ulit ang mga pictures, anong theme 'to? It looks random and different and I don't actually understand what the photographer is trying to say.

"I think these are all beautiful. It's perfect, they're all well captured—"

"The theme." Yuan said in a firm voice, "Ano ang theme?"
