I didn't think anything in my life could get worse. I was wrong, but it didn't have anything to do with Patrick. As far as I know Patrick's wounds were healing just fine, and he was waiting for me to find him. It was difficult to do, and he understood that. Yet I don't think I did.
Tonight Brayson and Kasey would be coming over for dinner, and I wasn't sure how this would go. Alexis still was upset about me killing Bill, Brayson didn't like my plan, and I have no idea how Kasey would handle the Jane's family drama. I was just hoping to make it through the night without anything going wrong. Like anything in my life goes right any more.
I heard Alexis answer the door has I took the chicken I was making out of the stove and walked over to where the kids were standing. Brayson had a smile on his face and was laughing at something Alexis said, and when he looked up, the smile was gone and he stopped laughing. If looks could kill, I would be dead right now.
"Mom," he said, the gleefulness gone from his voice. He walked to the living room, Kasey fast behind him. I sighed and Alexis looked at me.
"Should I be worried about you two?" she asked me and I shock my head.
"No sweetie," I answered putting on a smile. "I think Brayson and I will solve whatever is going on by tonight."
"Okay. Why don't you go finish dinner?"
"Good idea. Why don't you go calm down your brother?"
"Okay."
I watched her go to into the living room and I heard laughter once again. I finished making dinner, and listened to Brayson closely. I heard him laugh at one point, then nothing at the next has the girls laughed. Something was wrong with him, and I was going to find out out before the night was over. I placed the food on the table, I walked in.
"Dinner is done," I told them, and everyone smiled.
"I'm starving Mrs. Jane," Kasey told me and I took her hand in mine.
"You can call me Missy if you want Kasey," I told her and she nodded.
"Well I'm sure it will be good Mom," Brayson said, giving me an upset look. What was wrong with my son?
"Well it's in the kitchen when we are ready," I spoke up, and lead the children to the table. We ate in silence until Alexis broke it.
"So Brayson how is college?" she asked him, and he smiled.
"It's great," he answered. "Not has great has seeing my sister and picking on her, though," he said, and took her roll on her plate.
"Hey!" she cried and grabbed it back. Kasey and I laughed at them. Brayson smiled at her, and she rolled her eyes, taking a bit of the bread.
"What about you Kasey?" I asked her, and she smiled.
"About the same," she answered. "Though I wish I could see Dad more often."
"Why can't you?" Brayson asked, sounding like this is new to him.
"He moved today. I'm sorry Brayson, I wasn't thinking about telling you until tomorrow. Are you mad?"
"Not too bad," he said, a smile on his face that I have only seen his father make. "I understand. Took me a while to tell you about my parents being gone."
He looked over, then back down at his plate. Was he nervous about something? His moods seemed to be all over the place, and I was ready to find out.
"Oh, I remembered I have to go finish something for work," I said, and everyone looked up.
"Now?" Alexis whined. "Can't it wait?"
"It will only take a minute or two, and Lisbon needs it soon."
"Okay."
I stood up and walked to my laptop and pulled up Google. I typed in weird mood swings, and I got a few pages. After looking through some of them, a word caught my eye. Bipolar disorder. I clicked on it, and read the article about it. It told me about what it was more in detail then I knew, and it matched Brayson. I searched how to tell you were bipolar, and the only way is to be tested. I sighed and new a person who could see if Brayson was bipolar, and that was Matt. Yet I didn't know if Brayson would be up for it.
I walked back in, and Brayson looked up.
"Did you get it done?" he asked me.
"I did," I answered. "Brayson, can I talk to you?"
"Sure," he said and stood up and followed me to the place the laptop sat. The article about bipolar disorder was still up.
"Brayson, I'm worried about you," I started. "You have been acting strange, happy one moment and the next sad. I think, and I might be wrong, so don't get mad, that you have bipolar disorder. I want you to come with me to see if you are or not."
"You think I might be...?" he couldn't even finish his sentence. He just looked at the screen and covered his eyes. "Okay, but I don't know if I am or not."
"Thank you Brayson. Do you want Kasey and Alexis to know or come?"
"No, I just want you at the moment."
"Alright. I'll go make up a story."
I walked in the dinning room, and Alexis and Kasey looked up with a smile. "Hey Mom, I think we are out of butter," she said, holding up the empty container. I had some in the car just in case, but I think this was a perfect excuse.
"Well Brayson and I were going to the story to get some things," I told them. "We will get some butter too. We'll be back in a while."
"Okay," Kasey said and started to talk to Alexis again. I lead Brayson out to the car, and we drove out to Matt's office. Brayson went in and Matt gave him the test. After a few minutes of the test, Matt come out with a sad look on his face. Brayson wouldn't look at me.
"Brayson does have bipolar disorder."
I'm so mean to people. So now something else has happened to Missy's life that I don't know will effect the story. So there will be about 25/26 chapters in total. I have to plan out everything that needs to happen, so I'll let you know later. Hope you all enjoy the book till then! Peace out my Stars!
