Chapter 23 Paige

I had went for a walk. Ever since I was added into Kendra's pack things had been odd. I have a wolf that I can shift into. She talks to me every now and then. But lately I haven't felt the need to hang with my usual friends. I wanted to hang out with the pack but considering what I've done. You know trying to break up Kendra and Lydia while I was a human. I'm sure Lydia doesn't like me very much considering that. So these past few weeks I've either been at home or walking around by my self. I've rarely been to school. Kendra had gotten one of the Omega's in the pack to bring me my school work and I was thankful for her thinking about me. I really wish she would come and check on me but I knew she wouldn't because she is in love with Lydia.

I was walking down the road and then I heard someone shout.

"Hey! You! Girl! Look at me!" The person yelled. I turned to see a man slowly driving his car by me.as he looked at me.

"What?" I questioned.

"Are you in high school?" He asked. From what I could smell he was human so if he ran after me I could easily out run him. And I could over power him with my wolf strength.

"Yeah why?" I asked.

"Do you know a girl named Lydia Johnson?" He questioned. Then my wolf growled on the inside.

'Protect Luna. He wants to harm Luna. Protect Luna.' She said.

"Yeah. Why do you want to know?" I asked.

"That doesn't matter. I need to know where she is and your going to tell me." He said.

"No I'm not." I stated and I could tell that made him angry. I was close to Kendra's house where she was staying and I began running. I didn't get as far as I thought I would. Considering he was in a vehicle. He pulled up right in front of me and then guys that I didn't even notice where with him jumped out his vehicle and grabbed me. There were four of them and they barely managed to get me in. As soon as I was in they tied some rope around me to hold my arms still.

"Let me go. I swear y'all will regret this." I said as I struggled to move around.

"Shut up." The guy to my right said. We pulled up to a house and I saw it wasn't far from Kendra's. They took the rope off of me and the guy that was driving got out and went inside the house. Right now only the guy on my right hand a hold of me.and I knew I could get free. I elbowed him hard in the stomach and began to run. I knew they were running after me and I had to get them away. I wasn't running as fast as I could because I didn't want to lose them yet.

I was running down the side walk still. Looking behind me every now and then to make sure they were still following me. They were. I made it to the edge of the town and I stopped.

"You got no where to go." One of them yelled. I turned around just as they were coming up.

"So you think." I said. Then I ran into the woods that surrounded the town. They followed me in. I ran in different directions for some time and I slowly began to speed up. I was losing them. Then I turned right. The woods were thick now and they wouldn't be able to see me. With me being so smart and going in different directions they wouldn't really know the way back. Well unless they walked in one direction for a while till they found a road. I made it to Kendra's house and went to the door. I tried to.catch my breath before I knocked on the door and I just realized that I was crying. I wiped away my tears and knocked on the door. Then it opened to reveal Kendra.

"Paige what the fuck? What's wrong? Come on. Come in side." She said as she gently grabbed my arm and pulled me inside.

"I-I need to talk to Lydia." I said. Then she walked in the room. Her eyes landed on me and I saw anger but it was soon replaced by worry.

"Oh my gosh Paige what's wrong? Are you okay?" She asked as she came up to me.

"There, there were men. They were looking for you. I led them.to the edge of the town and I took them into the woods and took them in different directions and I lost them. Then I came here." I said. She pulled me.to the dining room were we both sat down.

"Were they in a vehicle?" She asked. I nodded.

"At first they were. I was pretty close to here and a man pulled up by me. He asked if I knew you and I said yes. He wanted me to take him to you. When I said no and ran he pulled his car in front of me making me stop. And then four guys got out and grabbed me. They put rope around me so I couldn't move. When he pulled up to a house and got out they took the rope off me and pulled me out. That's when I hit the guy and ran. Now I'm here." I said.

"Was it a truck?"she asked.

"Yeah a blue one." I said and she looked at her hands.

"Damn it." She hissed.

"Its my father. He wants me back." She said as she looked at Kendra.

"Why? Did he say why Paige?" Kendra asked.

"No. He just grabbed me. I didn't tell them anything." I said.

"Damn it. Don't worry babe he won't get you." Kendra said as she walked away.

"What is she doing?" I asked.

"I don't know. Mason. Will you keep an eye on her real quick!" She yelled and then Mason appeared.

"Damn Paige. You look bad. I got her Lydia. Go do what you need to." He said as he walked up to us and stood by the chair. She nodded then went the way that Kendra did.

"Hey to you too Mason." I said as I looked down.

"Hey you did the right thing. You are always welcomed here. You're apart of this pack. Remember that." He said as he sat down in front of me. I couldn't help the tears that fell from my face.

"Thanks Mason." I sniffled.

"Anytime." He replied.

Maybe I did have some place that I belonged to after all...
