Why I moved back to Central City beats me. I'm doing just fine in Starling City, but now I'm placing boxes into my new house that I'm renting.
Maybe it's because of my best friend Caitlin and Ronnie. They've been begging me to move back because I finally have my degree in psychology and medical biology. Since Christmas, I haven't been to Central City to see Caitlin and Ronnie, and Ronnie proposed to Caitlin. He couldn't have done it without me, but at least he did it. But that wasn't it.
The particle accelerator exploded right before I was about to leave Starling City and move to Central City. It killed Ronnie, so I stayed away for much longer, about ten months. I couldn't bear going back there and not seeing Ronnie anymore.
Maybe it's because I've befriended Cisco and he wants me to come back so I can try and use psychology tricks on him and he can teach me how to hack into cameras. But it's not. None of these reasons are true.
It's because of an email I have received from someone I've met, and have heard amazing things about before the accelerator exploded. The smartest man in Central City. The richest man in Central City. People admired him, and I will admit, I did too. I was a little shocked to get an email from Harrison Wells.
The email was as follows:
Dearest Miss Brooks,
You must know about the particle accelerator explosion by now, seeing as it's the talk of the town, many towns, and you're probably wondering why the most hated man is emailing you. I understand you have a degree in psychology and biology. I'm prepared to offer you a job, temporary or permanent, your choice.
Caitlin continues to tell me you are quite brilliant and we could use your services around here. I've also researched your job at Granger Laboratories in Starling City and I can assure you, you will be making more money than you ever will.
When you take this job, I can guarantee, you will be of great use and I'm sure you will stay around for longer than you think. Please confirm your arrival within the next two days and we'll get you set up.
Harrison Wells.
It seems to me that I've already got the job and having Harrison Wells tell me that I am brilliant was the most amazing thing anyone could ever say to me. I will say, it's a little creepy he researched my job, but if I'll be making more money, what is the harm?
So, I agreed after contemplating with Felicity, who told me to get the hell out of Starling City. She's probably encouraging me to get out of there because the city is getting dangerous and the Green Arrow requested I leave.
I'm not supposed to know about the Green Arrow, but she slipped it out when she was drunk at my house. I figured out he was Oliver Queen and I was highly disinterested in helping him and his team unless they needed help with my job.
But I guarantee they wanted me to be safe, and there's been talk about a "flash" running around saving people. I haven't looked into it myself, but it seems interesting. Maybe it'll be different. It'll have to be different. I'm standing in my living room, looking around like a lost puppy. Caitlin and Cisco were supposed to be here to help, but they are nowhere to be found.
So I unpacked a few boxes, like the ones for the kitchen and my room, but I left the rest for after tonight. It was about time for me to leave for my first day, which makes me even more confused. The entire lab was shut down, yet he's offering me more money than I made at a fully running company.
Not to mention, Dr. Wells, Caitlin, and Cisco are the only people working there now. What could they possibly be doing that they would need my help? I have nothing to offer them if they have nothing running.
