We walked into the Cortex and Caitlin pulled up a video from a long time ago. A time when Dr. Wells asked me to help him understand his gorilla. There Caitlin and I were, feeding him and being kind to Grodd.

Zoology helped me take care of Grodd and be able to study him without hurting him. At first, when Dr. Wells asked me to help, I was hesitant, but once he explained the amazing discoveries and research, I couldn't resist. He had a way with words.

"Oh. So he's a gorilla." Barry pointed out like this wasn't shocking. He looked over at me and I nodded, confirming his thoughts.

"About five years ago, Wells and Eiling were working on a project to expand the soldiers' ability during battle." Cisco began to explain. I clenched my jaw when I remembered what caused me to quit the job.

"What we didn't know was that Eiling tried to create soldiers with psychic abilities," I explained, glaring up at the video of me and Caitlin.

"What do you mean 'psychic'?" Joe asked.

"He was trying to create super-soldiers with telepathic and telekinetic abilities. I was the first to find out and I quit." I explained, looking over at Barry.

"When Wells found out he shut down the whole thing," Caitlin said.

"So this psychopath likes animals? Nice." Joe added, making all of us nod.

"What happened to Grodd?" Barry asked.

"We don't know," Caitlin answered and I rolled my eyes. Now I was even more pissed off. They didn't know what happened to the giant ape in their basement. Nice. "After the accelerator exploded I went to see if he was okay, but he wasn't there."

"How did you lose a giant ape?" I asked, looking between Caitlin and Cisco. They just pressed their lips together and looked at each other.

"So he could be affected like Barry?" Joe asked.

"When the dark matter hit Grodd, the drugs and chemicals Eiling put in him could have changed him," Cisco explained. "Maybe it created a meta-gorilla. I think we know what will happen when a very smart gorilla, who hates a human, escapes."

"This isn't cool, Cisco." I scolded, making him drop his smirk.

"Cisco's right about the first part," Caitlin said, typing on the computer. Cisco gave both of us a look of annoyance because we didn't engage in his King Kong joke. Caitlin pulled up a picture of Grodd's brain. "That's the first brain scan Aspen did on Grodd."

"His primary motor area and Broca's section are lit up like a Christmas tree," Barry observed.

"That's only because of his experiments," I explained, making Barry look at me. His eyes were beautiful, except they clearly showed the rift between us. I'm not sure how long I can go with him being angry with me.

"This is the one I did on Eiling. His brain is the same as Grodd's." Caitlin said, pulling up Eiling's brain scan.

"So they're conjoined somehow?" Joe asked.

"Somehow, Grodd is transmitting neural signals to Eiling's motor cortex. And if he's going that, who knows what damage he can do." I explained. "Do you think he wants revenge?"

"I don't like how Wells saved Grodd," Joe said. "I think it's too convenient that all of a sudden he just shows up while we're trying to find Wells."

"They do have a special bond," Caitlin added. Caitlin looked over at me and pressed her lips together. "But so do Aspen and Grodd." I crossed my arms, trying to shake the painful memories of finding out the horror of Eiling's experiments.
