Kira's POV

I sat in class, taking notes obediently. Dad was writing on the board with chalk. Death was to my left, and there was an empty seat next to me. There was a reason for that.

Apparently, everyone thought I was a traitor. I'd heard "Arachnophobia", "traitor of the DWMA", and "can't be trusted" whispered all during classes.

The bell rang and I grabbed my books and stood on my desk, pushing myself off the desk, flipping in the air, and landing on the tiled floor. I bolted the room, laughs, whispered insults, and rumors following me.

I didn't stop running, not until I got back to my house. I ripped off my shirt, a tanktop underneath, and then changed into some shorts. It was a cooler day, but I'd train for forever anyways.

It took about two hours for me to get into the harder stuff. Like my own Techniques and new wavelength skills. I'd learned them all from... Giriko.

The thought of the man from Arachnophobia made me choke. And I'm not talking emotionally. I choked on air, doubling over and coughing. Death had been watching me for an hour now, and he stood straight when I started coughing.

"Hey. Are you okay?" He asked behind me. I finished coughing and spit, ignoring Death's disgusting groan. "Just fine. Thanks." I said. Even though I felt the complete opposite.

I worked on the Techniques I already taught myself. Like my inherited Soul Menace, Experimental Ectoplasm, and Soul Perception. After training and trying to perfect those, I moved on to my Technique Arch Angel.

Reluctantly, I turned to my phone and dialed Maka. She picked up on the fourth ring. "Hello?"

"Hey. It's Kira. I need your help."

"Really? What's up?"

"Well, Death isn't a Scythe Meister, and Kai is a traitor and I haven't had contact with him since..." I trailed off. "I was wondering if you'd mind wielding me until I find a Meister." Which probably won't happen now, I thought.

There was a slight pause. "Sure! Would you mind if I brought Soul?"

I shook my head, although I knew there was no way she'd seen the action. "No. He can come, too." I panted softly as I hung up, already getting tired from training.

We didn't have to wait long until Maka and Soul showed up. "Hey, Kira!" Maka waved, a soft smile on her face. I nodded, taking a swig of water.

As soon as I saw her, I was scanning her soul wavelength, preparing to match to it. She and Death made short conversation, then she turned to me. Soul stood next to Death. "I wonder if she can match wavelengths with anyone like the Professor." Soul mumbled. Death just grunted.

Maka nodded. "I'm ready when you are." She told me. I nodded, closing my eyes and morphing into my scythe form.

It felt weird like this. I was so used to being human, I'd forgotten what being in Weapon form felt like. "Maka?" I questioned, testing our communication. "Yeah?" She replied. I grunted. "Just making sure I matched our wavelengths correctly." She sighed.

"What are we doing now, Kira?" She asked calmly. I nodded. "I'm not entirely sure how safe this is, but, since everything seems fine, I need to work on a minor Technique of mine. Arch Angel." I explained the Technique to her, and we ignored Soul's attempts to stop us. He didn't like that I couldn't guarantee Maka would end up alright in the end.

I inhaled deeply. "Let's go! Soul Resonance!" We shouted at the same time. Our wavelengths linked with an electric spark. "Arch Angel!"

Like the first time I'd ever used Arch Angel, I changed from a black and white Scythe to a silver and pale blue scythe, our wavelengths spreading, trying to reach each other, and spreading across my now double-blades in an electric current.
