Savannah

Since my release from the hospital a few days ago I followed the doctors orders and took it easy for awhile. I did most of my work from home and caught up on episodes of my favorite tv shows. Jackson had managed to move me into his apartment to keep an eye on me after the incident with Bryan. Not that I was complaining. But I knew eventually, we would need to talk about living arrangements for when the baby was born.

My mother and I still hadn't spoken since her tantrum at the hospital and I was kinda glad about it. I would have to talk to her because I knew Sariah needed both of us to get along so that we could help her plan her wedding. But I wasn't planning on doing it anytime soon. This weekend Sariah wanted the entire bridal party to spend time at the beach she wanted to have her ceremony at. So that she could have our thoughts and opinions before booking the venue and making arrangements. The beach was privately owned and offered us a house and private access to the beach for the weekend. But I knew secretly she wanted a small get away with her friends and to also kill some of the tension that had grown since her engagement party.

"Are you packed?" I asked Jackson walking out of my bedroom after making sure I packed everything I needed.

"Yes, are you sure it's okay if I go, I don't want to intrude."

"You're not intruding, Trevor and Sariah told me to invite you."

"Is lover boy going to be there?"

"Unfortunately yes, he's the best man so I'm forced to see him at any event related to the wedding."

"Good thing you have a hot date to keep you distracted."

"It is." Jackson grabbed my bags and we headed downstairs to his car after I made sure I turned everything off and locked my apartment. The drive to the beach house was very interesting to say the least, between the random topics of conversation and terrible singing my face and stomach hurt from all the laughing we'd done. It also took us a little longer to get there because I either needed to pee, vomit, or was hungry every couple miles. In other words the first trimester of pregnancy and long car rides do not mix.

"What took you two so long? We've been waiting for you two for forever." my sister said meeting us outside, she was followed by Trevor.

"Sorry we had to make a few stops. The baby does not seem to like long car rides."

"It's fine you both made it here safely and now the party can begin. Everyone hasn't been here long so you guys didn't miss much." We went inside and she showed us where our room was, to my luck we were next door to Bryan and his fiancé. My sister apologized but I told her it was fine, I refused to let Bryan ruin my weekend.

"Alright everyone take a cup we all need a shot to start this weekend off right." my cousin Virginia said as we all gathered into the kitchen. Everyone got up to get a shot glass off the counter except for Jackson and I.

I wasn't ready for everyone to know that I was pregnant yet and Jackson agreed so I had to come up with a lie to not make anyone suspicious. Only my sister, Trevor, my parents, Jackson's parents and his younger brother knew about the baby and we wanted to keep it that way until I was out of my first trimester.

The smell of alcohol caused me to get sick to my stomach and find the nearest bathroom. I felt someone come in behind me and hold my hair out of my face and rub my back in soothing circles. When I finished I looked up to see that it was Jackson. He handed me a wash cloth so that I could wash my face and helped me get up so that I could rinse my mouth out and brush my teeth.

"Thanks."

"No problem, guessing our kid does not like the smell of alcohol."

"Not a bit."
