Tris pov
A few months later

Brian's birthday is coming up and this means I'm going to have to talk to Tobias about what we are going to do for his birthday.

Tobias and I don't talk much and we are on a break. Both of us don't want to get a divorce but we aren't exactly trying to fix our marriage. Tobias actually has a new girlfriend.

Brian is at Tobias house today and tomorrow he will be with me. His birthday is next Saturday and normally Tobias has him on saturdays so we have to figure something out.

I knock on Tobias parents house door and Evelyn answers.

"Hey sweetie" she says greeting me at the door

"Hi mom" I say hugging her

Yeah Evelyn have created a relationship where I call her mom too. My mom actually likes it because Tobias calls my mom his mom too.

"Where's Brian" I say walking into the house.

"Upstairs with Tobias in his room" she says

"Okay" I say

"Go up. Don't act like a stanger" she says and I smile and walk up the stairs to Tobias room.

I open the door and reveal a very happy Brian smiling and laughing with his father.

"Look Brian. Mommy is here" Tobias says to Brian spaceshipping him into my arms.

"Hi buddy" I say planting a kiss on Brian's head.

He puts his tiny hands on my lips and laughs.

"Can I talk to you" I say to Tobias putting Brian in his play pen.

"Is it about his birthday on Saturday. I knew you would want to talk about this sooner or later" he says

"I know he's yours on saturdays but can we please work something out so we can both be with him on his birthday" I say

"We could do something together for him. Jenna would want to come too so it can just be the 4 of us celebrating" he says and I roll my eyes.

"Tobias it's his first birthday I don't want to just do something small and boring. Jenna's a vegan so we would have to go to some stupid vegan approved restaurant just for her" I say with a little attitude

"Okay then we don't have to do that" he says

"I think we should have a massive party for him at the house" I say

"His birthday is in a week. We are not going to have time to do everything in a week and get people to come, it's too late or a notice" he says

"It's not too late. People will come" I say

"Tris can you just listen to me" he says

"I am listening & what you're saying doesn't make sense because people will come" I say

"This would be so much easier if we just went out to eat with him. He's not even going to remember this" he says

"But it's special" I say

"This birthday party has to be special" I add

"It will be with just us" he argues back. Then we're interrupted by Jenna walking into the room.

"Wow it sounds like world war 3 in here" she says chewing her gum and holding her hand bag.

"We're having a party. So be on board with it or you miss his first birthday" I say

"Well we technically have to do what I want because his birthday falls on the day that I get him" he says

"Tobias please don't do this" I say putting my hands on my face.
