Bile rose up my throat as I vomited again, the bile burning the back of my throat and my nose. Tao sat on the bathroom floor behind me, rubbing my back gently, which I was thankful for since it helped take away the nausea I felt. "Are you sure you're okay?" He asked, watching me with worried eyes.
I nodded, nothing else left in my stomach to vomit. Taking a few deep breaths now that I was able to breath, and leaned back, resting the back of my head on Tao's chest. He pulled me closer to him and wrapped his arms around me, the difference in our body temperatures more obvious now than ever due to my fever.
Tao sighed, his breath brushing against my ear. "Maybe we can get Lay to take a look at you. He might have a way to bring down your fever and help with the nausea." He suggested, his chest vibrating as he spoke.
I have another nod. "Okay." I agreed, my voice hoarse.
Tao gave me a small smile and stood, helping me slowly to my feet so that I wouldn't get dizzy again. Once we were both on our feet, he quickly pulled out his phone and began calling someone.
"Kai, I need you to come get Khristi and I." He began, and Kai gave a reply, sounding worried. "Khristi is sick, she has a really bad fever. Lay needs to take a look at her." Tao replied.
A few seconds later, there was a knock on the bathroom door, and Kai stepped inside. "Hey, how are you feeling?" He began, looking at me, worried, then gently placed his hand on my forehead. He quickly pulled his hand away as shock flashed across his face. "This definitely isn't a normal fever." He said, a panicked expression already set across his features as he showed Tao and I his hand, a bright red burn mark on the back of it. "We need to go, now."
Tao gave him a nod, and Kai placed a hand on each of our shoulders, more hesitant with mine, black mist already swirling around us. A split second later we were back at the mansion, and I found myself hit with an intense wave of nausea. Thankfully, I held it back long enough to make it to the closest bathroom, which just so happened to be in Chen's room.
"Woah, what's going on?" He asked Tao and Kai, who both followed after me. "Why aren't you two half way across the planet?" He asked Tao.
"She suddenly got sick, and I don't think this is just some regular fever, it showed up out of nowhere for no reason, and Kai was burned when he touched her..." He trailed off.
Chen looked over at me, worried as I leaned against the wall of his bathroom, my head in my hands. "I'll go get Lay." He said, then rushed from the room, Kai following after him.
Tao entered the bathroom, sitting down beside me, pulling me over to him. "We'll get you better in no time." He smiled, and I gave him a nod.
"Just no more teleporting until then." I said with a small laugh, trying to make light of the situation.
Tao nodded, kissing my burning forehead just as Lay stepped into the bathroom. "When did this start?" He asked, and I shrugged.
"Twenty minutes ago?" I replied.
Lay gave a nod, holding his hand out towards me, and was silent for a moment. Confusion crossed his face. "Huh...weird." He said, and held out his other hand, actually placing it on my forehead before anyone could warn him. His face went pale as his fingers literally burned, and he gasped quietly in pain, quickly pulling his hand away. "Let's get her to my room. Now." He said, and before I could begin to get up, I was being carried down the hall, Tao holding me tightly in his arms.
As we passed his room, Suho came out, looking as green as I felt. He glanced up in time to see everyone rushing down the hall, and his face grew panicked. "Khristi?" He called out, following after his brothers.
