"Go away" I moan, involuntarily hiccuping.
"No" Julian says firmly. I turn my head to meet his gaze. "I'm protecting my princess" he whispers quietly.
I take a shaky breath in "Julian. Please just go away" I beg. He shakes his head holding my gaze "I already said no. You're obviously not okay. And-"
"Go away" I snap at him
"No" he says forcefully "You had you're turn now it's mine." I don't reply instead trying to even out my breaths. "I don't care about the stupid game. You win okay? Whatever. Though I admit it might be nice to sleep with you" I glare at him
"I'm kidding" he holds his hands up in surrender "I don't care about sleeping with you. Lilly, I just want to make sure you're okay. I know you're obviously not but I want to help. We can get help" he offers.
I try to wipe off the tears that I know have ruined my makeup. "Fine" I sigh. "We can go back to my house" says Julian "I mean if you want to that is" he adds on quickly.
I nod thankful that my tears have stopped flowing from my eyes. "Okay"
He stands up and then proceeds to help me up off the ground. He wraps his arm around my waist, supporting me as we walk to towards the exit. The car ride to his place was silent. All the while his words kept echoing in my head. You win okay? What had he meant? Did he love me, was that even possible.
He barely knew me, unless he had figured it out. I shook my head to myself. No, he couldn't have. But still my thoughts swirled around in my mind wanting to ask him what he meant but not daring to break the silence.
I hadn't noticed he turned off the engine. We were parked in the driveway of his house. It was as massive and gigantic as I had remembered it. The street was silent. The only light came from the streetlights.
His house looked so welcoming when I first came over. But now in the dark it looked solemn and lonely. Julian had gotten out of the car already. I followed in his pursuit. Julian waited for me at the door and unlocked it. He closes the door behind us, I use the wall to support me as I took off my heels. I felt a rush of relief run through me. Heels were really uncomfortable.
Julian flicked on the lights, illuminating the dark hallways. I tried to stay as quiet as possible. I didn't want to wake up his parents.
"My parents aren't home" Julian explained. It was as if he had read my mind somehow. "Oh" was all I said in response. "Come on" he motioned for me to go upstairs with him. I climbed the stairs silently, I had a feeling we were going to his room. It wasn't like I hadn't been there before. But this time we'd both be awake.
Julian swings open the door and turns on the lights. I walk in ahead of him, the room looked just as I remembered it.
Grey walls, shelfs lined with trophies and books, a cork board with ribbons plastered all over it and a large bed in the middle of it.
I bite my lower lip nervously, not trying to be in the least bit suggestive I sit on the very edge of his bed. I flinch when I hear him close the door a little too loudly. "Sorry" he mumbles.
I stay still sitting on the edge of his bed playing with the ends of my hair. Julian walks over to another door which I assume is closet. He walks backs over to me with a big oversized grey shirt in hand. He hands it over to me.
"Here. Take a shower and change into this." I nod numbly and walk to where he directs is the bathroom.
I lock the door behind me and lean against it. I inhale the scent of his t-shirt. It smelt like him, clean. It smelt familiar. First I take a look in the mirror above the sink.
I froze. I looked horrible. My smokey eye was now a blue or black smudged around my eye. Mascara flakes adorned my lower eye lid now. My lipstick was all smudged and to top it all off my eyes were bloodshot and there were tear stains on my checks.
I wondered how Julian managed not to run the other way. Especially with me freaking out and screaming at him. I took off my contact lenses, which were irritating my eyes and lit them away in their case. I slipped off my dress and under garments.
Turning on the hot water I climb into the shower. I sigh at the feeling of the hot water beating down onto my back. I felt my body relax. I take advantage of the situation and wash my hair in the process.
Afterwards I step out of the shower. I decide to wear my underwear and the t-shirt. The shirt reaches my knees. Even though I have worn shorter dresses I still felt uncomfortable. Maybe it had to do with the fact that it was his t-shirt.
I dry off my hair the best I could but it was still damp. I couldn't wear my contacts again. I didn't want to do this but eventually I slipped on my glasses. Yes I wear glasses. Shocker.
Nervously I step out of the bathroom. I don't really know why I was nervous. Julian looks up as I make my way over to him.
"You wear glasses?" He asks
I nod my head "mmhm"
Julian stands up and slips his hand in mine. "You look good" he studies my face, briefly I wonder if he could recognize me. "Come on, we can go watch a movie down stairs"
We sit down on the couch. I lay my legs across his. Julian has his arm wrapped around me pulling me against him, I leaned my head against his warm chest. He didn't seem to mind the fact my hair was still wet.
