Everyone knew. By Monday morning second period everyone knew we had broken up. I doubted very much that Julian had been the one to tell everyone and spread the various rumours.

My guess was that most people saw the change in our statuses. The untagging and taking each other out of our bios. Plus a little rat that goes by the name of Isabelle had decided to spread rumours like a wildfire.

Know one knew what exactly happened and I intended on keeping it that way. Most people thought that Julian had dumped me which wasn't what happened. I didn't care what they thought. At least that's what I kept telling myself.

Even before I went to school I knew somehow people already knew or would soon know. I made sure to look extra sweet on Monday.

I had gotten a new manicure over the weekend. My hair in its usual waves looked flawless as far as I was concerned. I wore black stiletto boots and tight mid rise jeans. Completed by a tight grey top and of course a push up bra. (Hey a girl got to do what she got to do)

As the girls and I made our way to the cafeteria people watched us. Some 10th graders were obviously whispering about me and not so secretly staring at us.

"It's rude to stare you know" Maya snapped at them. Their eyes widened in fear and they scurried off. "Under class-men, I swear" Nina murmurs under her breath rolling her eyes.

"Come on" I mumble walking ahead. We sit down at our old table, the one we're Isabelle had introduced me to all of them. I played some game on my phone as Alissa complained about Connor.

"You like him" Nina states simply like it's a well known fact

"Aww, look she's blushing" Maya teases. "I do not like him!" Alissa emphasizes her face flushed "You guys are making me uncomfortable, that is why I'm blushing. Not because I like him."

I look up and meet her eye, I'm smirking. "Shut up!" Alissa tells me.

I fake gasp "But I didn't even say anything." I put down my phone and press my palm to my heart "I can't believe you would even say something like that much less to your best friend" I tsk her.

Nina and Maya giggle at Alissa's humiliated expression as she sips on her smoothie. "Plus you already admitted to me you liked him" I say quickly before stuffing a fry into my mouth.

"Lilly!" She hisses her face going even brighter red. "I knew it!" Nina proclaims ecstatically. I laugh swallowing my fries. "Sorry" I mouth at her as Nina and Maya trample  her with questions.

Alissa, Nina and Maya go silent as they stare at something behind me. "What?" I scrunch my eyebrows in confusion.

"Nothing" Alissa says quickly "Don't worry about it-"

I turn in my seat and I know why she didn't want me to see. Just walked through the cafeteria doors was Julian with his arm wrapped around none other- Isabelle.

My stomach dropped, I gritted my teeth together and willed myself to turn away. But not before Julian meet my eyes. There was no arrogance or cockiness in them. They were flat and emotionless. In fact he looked well uncomfortable having his arm around Isabelle. Despite the seemingly casual and relaxed stance he was in, I knew him better than that. I held his gaze and turned away before Isabelle could catch sight of me.

"You okay?" Alissa asks me. I look up from my food and find the three girls all looking at me with concern. I straighten up and give them I small smile "I'm fine" I assure them "Plus,  I'm the one who broke up with him. Isabelle just his sloppy seconds" I comment coolly.

"Damn straight" Maya chuckles. I give her a smile and then back to my lunch. "How'd go with Malik anyway?" Maya asks Nina.

Curiously I look up to see her response. I haven't asked her about that yet, I've been too focused on my own boy drama I haven't even asked Nina about hers.  She rolls her eyes popping a potato wedge in her mouth. "I mean" she says hastily chewing her wedge and swallowing it "His kinda mellow you know?"

"Mellow?" I question, saying the word slowly. "Yeah. Like his too much of a good guy. I like me a bad boy." Alissa stares at Nina like she's gone completely insane with her mouth hanging open. "Close your mouth hun, you'll catch flies" Maya chides her like a mother hen.

Alissa snaps her mouth shut. "Don't get me wrong" Nina crosses her legs "His interesting to talk to and his well good-looking but he doesn't like to take risks and he isn't the most forward guy. It's like his nice a guy"

Maya snorts really loudly and tries to pass it off as some weird cough

Very unsuccessfully I might add. We turn to look at her. "What?" Nina asks her.

"Nothing" she shrugs "Its just well the Malik I know is like the very opposite of what you're describing"

"Explain"

"Well I'm his neighbour. I see him being girls home like every weekend. The boy keeps his curtains open and well I get a front row seat." Maya says in disgust.

Nina narrows her eyes "Are you sure? He barely laid a hand on me all night"

Maya nods her head "Trust. I know what I've seen and sometimes I wish I hadn't."

Nina frowns and leans on to her elbow, holding her face in hand. "Don't worry about it" Alissa tells her.

"Ugh" Nina says "It's just frustrating. You know, it's like his not even interested in me. I mean I'm desirable? Right?" She asks desperately

We all nod in agreement and tell her words of encouragement.

The bell rings and we all set off the our classes. Math, I usually loved the subject and well I'm good at it but today I just couldn't concentrate. That probably had to do with the fact that Julian was also in my math class and sat right in my line of sight. I excuse myself to the bathroom in a hurry. I can feel Julian's gaze burning into the back of my head.

I duck out of class and go to the wash room. It's empty I'm the only one there. I lean my hand against the sink for support. I get stop the tears that blur my vision from appearing. I choke trying to take a steady breath. The door begins to open, I blink away the tears and slip the lipstick out of my pocket and pretend to be reapplying it.

Heels click against the cold floor. I look up to the mirror and see a red-heads reflection smirking at me. "Isabelle" I greet her coldly. I put away my lipstick and turn to face her. Today her usual ringette curls are straight. "New look?" I comment.

She bats her eyelashes at me "Yup" she says in a fake cheerful voice. "How you holding up, Lillian?"
