A/N: Comments are very welcome. Actually, they are encouraged. Ashland is my first novel and I'm hoping to make it a series so if you start to lose interest please tell me. Thanks!

The day I was taken was just like any other day. We were hanging out on the top floor of the Divine Lorraine, mostly talking about the most random things. We could see almost everything from the top floor.

I was leaning against Luke, while I talked to Zac and Michael, when Luke jumped up and declared that he was going to the playground. Zac, Michael, Jacob and I exchanged a look before shrugging and nodding.

“Fine,” I said. “But we're going to Bailey's. And you're buying.”

“Deal,” Luke said. “I'll get Evan.”

I grinned, jumped up and followed Luke down the steps, grabbing my backpack as we walked. When we got to the floor Evan was on, Luke stuck his head out into the room and, in a display of his never failing “politeness”, yelled out, “Evan we're leaving! Let's go or we're leaving you... and you ain't eating!”

            “Coming!” Evan yelled back.

I laughed as Evan ran into the stairwell, “Hey kid, let's go.” I said before messing up Evan's hair and running down the steps.

“I ain't a kid!” Evan yelled, chasing me down the steps.

I was the first to reach the bottom of the steps and when Luke got to the bottom we hid behind two pillars. When Evan, Jacob, Zac and Michael got to the bottom, they looked around for us and after a moment the two of us jumped out. “Boo!” we yelled, making the boys jump.

“Ash!” Michael yelled, hitting me and Luke on our shoulders.

“You hit like a girl.” Luke said. And that's an understatement. He hits the same way he laughs, a very small schoolgirl, in a plaid skirt.

“Shut up,” Michael said with a pout.

“Or what? You'll lick my burger?” Luke asked.

            “I might,” Michael said.

Luke put Michael in a headlock and said, “No, you won't.”

“No I won't,” Michael said, making us laugh.

We slipped through a gap in the fence and ran to the playground a few blocks away. I dragged Luke over to the swing sets, with everyone else following us. “We're playing chicken!” Evan declared, “And you all are gonna deal with it.”

We all laughed and “dealt” with it.
