Heading Out

The four of us walked back to the cave and, by the time we got there, everyone was finishing their food and packing their bags.

“Finally,” Kelsey said when she saw us. “What took you so long?”

            Chance shrugged, “We had breakfast.”

“Who cooked?” Kelsey asked as she finished eating.

            “Chance,” Lee said.

            I nodded, “We had mush.”

“Mush?” Trip asked as I started to help him pack his bag.

Chance pouted, “It was supposed to be oatmeal…” he mumbled.

Lee chuckled and threw an arm around Chance’s shoulder, “Don’t worry, it tasted good.”

Seth snorted and rolled his eyes before he mouthed, “Liar,” to Lee, who flipped him off while Chance wasn’t looking.

Trip and I shook our heads and finished shoving his pillow into his bag, “Do you need real food?” Jackson asked as he walked over to us.

We shook our heads, “Is it time to go?” Seth asked.

“Almost,” Jackson said, looking around the camp. “Cody, Ty and Cam have to finish packing and a few of the girls have to finish breakfast.”

Kelsey shook her head, “I’ll go make sure the boys are packing,” she said before she tossed her bag at Trip and walked away.

Jackson nodded and looked over at Seth, “Alison’s been looking for you,” he said.

Seth quietly swore and quickly sat down between Trip and I, “Chance, go distract her,” he said. “She’s going to get freaky-scary-happy and glare at Ash and Trip again.”

I raised an eyebrow, “Freaky-scary-happy?” I asked as Trip’s eyes widened and he said, “She glares at… us?”

Lee and Chance laughed and Seth rolled his eyes, “Yes, freaky-scary-happy,” he said to me. “And she thinks the two of you are bad people or something,” he said to Trip.

“I hit her with one paint balls,” Trip mumbled.

            Seth laughed, “Poor you.”

I looked around, “I’m confused…” I said. “I am a bad person…”

Seth and Trip laughed as they both pushed me before they shook their heads and went back to packing Trip’s bag.
