It took us four hours to clean the kitchen and we were all exhausted by the time we fell asleep. So the next morning (it was my thirteenth day at the Academy) when Kelsey woke me up and I sprained her wrist. I didn't realize what I was doing until I had her arm twisted all the way around her back. I was half asleep when it happened.
“Are you alright?” I asked after I let her go.
Kelsey shook her head and I could tell I hurt her bad, “It just hurts a bit,” she said.
“Let me see,” I said as Seth, Trip Justin and Amber ran in.
“Don't go near her,” Justin said.
Kelsey smacked Justin with her good arm and held her arm out to me, “Shut up, Justin. It's my fault. I sneaked up on her.”
I laughed and poked at Kelsey's hand, “Didn't mommy and daddy ever tell you not to sneak up on someone who could potentially kill you?”
“You killed people?” Trip asked.
I ignored Trip’s question and looked at Kelsey “It's sprained. You're lucky.”
“Lucky? How is she lucky?” Justin asked.
I stood, “Let me demonstrate on you.”
Justin backed up, “No thanks.”
I flopped back onto my bed, “Didn't think so.”
“Is that what your mommy and daddy taught you? How to kill people?” Justin asked, mockingly.
I shook my head, “Mommy and daddy didn't have any part in my upbringing and for all I care they could be dead. Sam and Bailey taught me everything I need to know.”
“Sam and Bailey? Who are they?” Trip asked.
“None of your business,” I snapped. “Now, get out.”
“What about breakfast?” Seth asked.
“I think I can manage some cereal on my own,” I said as I stood. “Out.”
Everyone filed out of my room, “Don't forget to go see my dad,” Seth said.
I shut the door on his face.
