I was half-awake when I heard them sneak in. Ian and Kelsey were giggling as Seth and Trip shushed them.
A minute later, Ian and Kara jumped onto my bed as Ian yelled, “Ashes!”
I groaned, “Oh no, help me…”
“I’ll save you,” Trip said as he jumped on the bed too.
“I feel violated!” I said as Trip hugged me and Ian and Kara sat on us. “You people are complete psychos.”
“Yeah, we know,” Kelsey said, sitting next to me on my bed.
“I hate all of you,” I said. “And I’m not getting up.”
Seth laughed and sat by my pillow, “You are such a bum.”
“No, I just don’t want to wake up today,” I said.
Kelsey laughed, “Only cause you’re lazy.”
“Not lazy,” I said, pressing my cheek back down into the pillow.
“Of course not,” Seth said with a chuckle.
Ian and Kara laughed and curled up on Trip and I, “Does this mean we’re going to sleep?” Ian asked.
Trip laughed, “I think so,” he said. “Ash probably won’t get up anyway.”
Kelsey smiled and Seth sighed as he leaned against the wall, “Don’t fall asleep,” Kelsey said.
“We won’t,” Trip laid his head next to mine on the pillow.
Ian rested his head on my shoulder and twirled a piece of my hair between his fingers, “We’ll stay awake,” he said as Kara nodded in agreement.
Kelsey shook her head and laid down, “I’m sure you will.”
“You’re going to fall asleep too,” Seth said.
“Then you can stay awake,” I said. “Now shh.”
Trip and Kelsey laughed, “I like that idea,” Ian mumbled.
Seth sighed, “Does that mean I can’t sleep?” he asked with a pout.
I grabbed his wrist, “You can nap, but you can’t sleep.” I looked down at Ian and over at Kara, who were both sleeping and grinned.
“Doesn’t napping count as sleeping?’ Kelsey asked.
I shook my head, “Nope. Napping is napping. It’s like half-sleeping.”
Trip snorted, “How does someone half-sleep?”
“They nap,” I said with a grin.
“That doesn’t make sense,” Seth said, running his hand through my hair.
“Yeah it does,” I said. My eyelids felt heavy and I knew Seth was trying to get me back to sleep. “Don’t do that…” I mumbled.
Seth chuckled, “Do what?”
I opened my mouth to reply to Seth, but I don’t remember what I said. I’m pretty sure I was asleep before I could answer.

“I thought I sent you in here to get her, not to fall asleep on her bed,” I heard someone (Taven) say.
I groaned, “But it’s such a comfy bed.”
Taven chuckled, “I know it is, but you should be awake.”
Kelsey groaned, “Five more minutes.”
