A few hours later, the credits for Return of the King rolled across the screen and I grinned, “That was good,” I said.
Kelsey and Seth laughed at me, “Just good?” Trip demanded.
I smirked and nodded, “Just good,” I said.
Trip rolled his eyes and shook his head and Kelsey and Seth laughed.
“Did you do any training today?” Taven said from the doorway.
We all turned to face Taven, “No... but it was an emergency!” Trip said.
“An emergency?” Taven asked, disbelief written all over his face.
“Yeah, Ash never saw Lord of the Rings,” Trip said.
Taven chuckled, “I guess that qualifies as an emergency,” he said, sarcastically.
“Was that sarcasm?” Trip asked.
Taven chuckled, “No, not at all.”
Trip smirked, “That was definitely sarcasm.”
“You sure?” Taven asked as he raised his eyebrows.
Trip hesitated, “No...” he mumbled.
We all laughed and Markus walked in, “Laura made sandwiches,” he said. “They're in the kitchen.”
Trip grabbed my arm as he, Kelsey and Seth all stood and dragged me into the kitchen, “Here,” he pushed me into a seat that had a sandwich in front of it.
“Thanks?” I said as the three of them sat down and started eating.
Trip grinned at me and nodded as Markus and Taven walked in.
“Eat,” Markus said.
I rolled my eyes and made a big show out of taking a bite of the sandwich in front of me, “Happy?” I asked with my mouth full.
Markus rolled his eyes, “No, now eat,” he said.
Seth laughed, “He's never happy,” he stage-whispered to me.
We all laughed and Markus sighed, “I can be happy.”
“Right...” Trip said.
Taven rolled his eyes, “Don't pick on Markus at the table,” he said.
“But it's fun,” Trip said.
“Too bad,” Taven said.
Trip pouted, “You suck.”
“I've been told,” Taven said, chuckling.
Markus smacked my lightly, upside my head, “Eat,” he said.
I rolled my eyes, “That's child abuse,” I said. I looked over at Seth, Kelsey and Trip, “Does he do this to you guys? Cause if he does, we should complain or something.”
Everyone laughed and Trip nodded, “I agree,” he said.
“You're a bad example,” Markus said.
I smirked, “Okay,” I said. “I have no problem with that.”
Everyone laughed, again, and when I looked around the room to smirk and shrug, I couldn't help but change my smirk into a grin.
