XX. - Mothers -

Richard woke up early the next day. He went out of his room and walked straight towards the kitchen to make a cup of coffee.

He then opened at the window and looked at the rising sun for a moment. Richard smiled, thinking of all the good things that can happen. After drinking his coffee, Richard ran back to his room and took a shower. Fifteen minutes later, he heard knocks on his door.

"Wait!" he yelled and put a shirt on. Richard then ran towards the door and opened it, only to see Ruru standing on the other side.

"Hey." His cousin said.

"Hi ... bakit, may kailangan ka?"

"Your car."

"Anong gagawin mo sa kotse ko?"

"May date kami ni Gabbi ngayon eh."

"Umagang umaga may date kayo?"

"Pabebeng date." Ruru said before chuckling, Richard smiled and handed him the key.

"Ingatan mo yun ah?"

"Sino? Si Gabbi o yung kotse?" Ruru asked.

"Gago." Richard uttered before they both laughed. After Ruru left, he opened his window in hopes of seeing Maine in her room. But when he did not see her, the smile on his face faded.

Richard then walked downstairs and joined his Mom in the kitchen. She gave him a sweet and comforting smile. He greeted her a good morning and walked towards the cabinet to get a box of cereals.

"How are you?" she asked.

"Good ... still sleepy actually. Bakit ang aga niyo pong nagising?"

"Namalengke ako. Nga pala Richard, may advise ako."

"Ano po yun?"

"Gusto mong sagutin ka agad ni Maine?"

"Ligawan mo din Nanay niya."

"Po?"

"Richard ... I know na madami ka nang napasagot dati ... pero if you want na boto agad sa'yo yung parents dapat sila muna ligawan mo. Ligawan mo si Balae ay este kumare para naman alam niya na good boy ka at aalagaan mo si Maine." She said. Richard started smiling, an idea just popped into his head.

Maine stretched both her arms and legs before she left her bed. She then walked towards her window and pushed the curtains to the side to let the morning sunlight come in her room. Her phone then started ringing and so she picked it up.

"Good morning, Miss beautiful." Richard's deep morning voice caused butterflies to invade her stomach. Maine smiled and sat on the side of her bed.

"Miss beautiful mong mukha mo. Ang aga mong nambobola." She said.

"I'm not making bola."

"Why so conyo?" Maine asked and they both laughed.

"Hey, can I ask you something?"

"Sure." She said and looked at herself in the mirror.

"Can I come over?"

"Richard, kapit –bahay lang kita. Of course you can come over."

"Good." He answered and Maine heard the sound of wood knocking. She got up and walked out of her room.

"Maine, andito si Richard." Her mother said.
