XXXIII. - Open Up -

The next couple of days have been very good for the two. Though they both have hectic schedules, Richard and Maine still managed to see each other. Whether it was a short coffee date or them just hanging out, they always made the most out of their time together. Maine had been busy with her work and photography-related commitments. Richard on the other hand was neck-deep in his party planning schemes and photo shoots. They were both keen on reaching their goals. And they will not stop for anything to achieve it.

"Maine? May lakad ka ba bukas?" Mrs. Mendoza asked her.

"Wala naman po, bakit?"

"Di ba kasi Halloween na next week?"

"Bibili po kayo nang costume?"

"What? No. Eh pagkatapos ng Halloween eh Undas na. Ayoko na makipag-sisikan. Bili tayo bukas?"

"Sure." Maine said with a smile on her face.

"Thank you." Mrs. Mendoza replied and went back to the kitchen. A few minutes later, Gabbi showed up and asked her what costume would be great for a Halloween party.

"I don't know ... white lady?"

"Sa itim kong 'to? Really?" her cousin asked.

"Baliw ... kapag white lady ... yung damit yun ... hindi yung skin. Paano yung red lady, red din yung balat?"

"Malay ko ba? Isip ka pa."

"Anong klaseng Halloween party ba yung pupuntahan mo?"

"Sa school lang naman."

"Kapalan mo na lang make-up mo. Pwede na yun." Maine replied and Gabbi rolled her eyes.

"Thank you for your help. Really." Her cousin said in a sarcastic tone before she marched upstairs. Maine laughed a bit and went back to work. A few minutes later, her phone started ringing. She looked at the screen and saw Richard's name on it. Maine smiled and answered the call.

"Hey, milady." He greeted.

"Jologs ka talaga. What?"

"Wala akong gagawin tonight. Maybe you would like to hang out? Maybe a small date or something?"

"Naku, Richard. Kapag sa bundok mo na naman ako dadalhin eyeball mo na lang ang walang pasa." She said and Richard laughed.

"No ... I won't do that again. Malapit lang tayo, I promise. Para hindi ka rin mapagod."

"Okay fine ... what time?" Maine asked him.

"8:00 pm o 9:00 pm, it's up to you."

"8:00 pm sounds good."

"Okay, see you later love."

"Bye."

"Bye."

Richard spent most of the day finishing as much work as he can. He also planned a simple picnic date for his girlfriend. Though they literally live next to each other, Richard had a hard time seeing Maine due to their schedule. And it made him miss her already.

"Halloween party yung ginawa mo kagabi di ba?" Ruru asked.

"Yup. Why?"

"Anong magandang costume sa Halloween party?"

"Birthday suit."

"Fuck you, bro. I'm serious. Gabbi has this friend na merong Halloween party next week. She wants us to go."
