V. - Temptation -

Maine locked the door as fast as she could. She then went up to her room and stood straight by the window. Her heart started to pound against her chest and a drop of cold sweat streamed down the side of her face. She took a deep breath and used her delicate fingers to slightly push the curtains aside. The car returned and it stopped in front of Richard's house. After she caught a glimpse of her nemesis, Maine closed the curtains and went downstairs. She then started pacing back and forth, trying her best to think of the perfect reason so Richard won't kill her. Maine is pretty sure he can crush with his thick arms. Afraid for her life, she quickly snatched and umbrella and placed it within hand reach in case he tried to have a go at her.

"Napano ka niyan?" Gabbi asked her.

"I am so dead." She replied, still a bit too preoccupied with her morbid thoughts. Gabbi walked towards her and grabbed her by the shoulders. Maine's wild eyes quickly met hers.

"Anong I am so dead? Gusto mo ipatawas na kita?"

"What? No!" she protested and pulled herself free from her cousin's grip. Maine walked towards the window and saw Richard taking out the garbage bags from inside his manager's car.She gulped and quickly drew the curtains, completely blocking the view outside.

"Ano bang ginawa mo?"

"Yung basura, I thought sa kaniya car yun kaya dun ko nilagay. Sa manager pala niya." She finally admitted. Maine then sat on the couch and covered her face with both of her hands. Her heartbeat continued to go fast and her legs have started shaking. The war that they are in will get bigger, and it's all because of her.

"Ay shucks, you're on your own." Gabbi replied and went upstairs. Maine's heart dropped after she heard the sound of a vehicle driving away. The countdown to her imminent death has started.

Cancelled na ang shoot mo today!

His manager's angry voice continued to boom inside his head even though he already left. Richard opened one of the bags to see where it came from.

"Now .... Where did you come from? " He asked the trash bag as though it can say something in return. He opened one of them and quickly realized who the culprit is. Richard smirked and pulled out the empty bag of chips, the same one that Gabbi and Maine ate the other day. Fuming, the young model marched towards her house. He knocked furiously on her door and it opened right away.

Richard squinted at the sight of Maine. She lifted her hand and quickly formed a piece sign. He grunted and pointed at the garbage bags he left behind and she carelessly dumped inside his manager's car.

"What the fuck is wrong with you?" he asked. For the first time since they met, the tables have turned. Richard crossed his thick arms over his chest and waited for her explanation.

"Gumanti lang ako sa nangyari kahapon." She answered, trying her best to keep a strong and straight face.

"Alam mo ba kung ano yung kapalit ng ginawa mo? Na cancel yung dapat na shoot ko today. Endorsement yun, pera yun. You know ... I tried my best to be nice to you pero you're so nasty."

"Ikaw? Nice? Wow, kung nice ka wala nang douche sa mundo. Get over yourself, Richard." She snapped, displaying the feistiness that he truly admires.

"You're a man hater, do you know that? I didn't cost you money for what I unknowingly did yesterday. I don't even know na may sampay kaya. But what you did to me ... it's too much. Maybe I should tell Tita about this." He uttered, knowing it will turn things around again. And he was right; she suddenly had a change of heart.
