XL. - Unexpected Turns -

"Do you really have to go today? I mean ... you can go back tomorrow or on Tuesday. It's not like Lawrence's gonna miss much." Richard asked his mom after he saw her packing. Sunday has arrived, meaning she and Lawrence will have to leave and go back to the US.

"We already talked about this di ba? And besides, sayang yung tickets." Mrs. Faulkerson replied.

"Then when will you be back?" Richard asked, displaying his puppy eyes just in case his mother would change her mind.

"This December ... of course."

"Kasama si Lawrence, right?"

"Siyempre naman ... you really missed your brother huh?" his mother asked and so Richard nodded. Mrs. Faulkerson smiled and gave him a quick hug.

"Will you check on him for me please? We have to leave in ten minutes." She said.

"Okay." Richard replied and left the room. He then walked towards the other end of the hallway and knocked on Lawrence's door. It opened at once and so he went in.

"How are you?" he asked his brother.

"Bummed, I wanna stay here." Lawrence replied.

"Dude, if it was up to me ... you would stay here. I would even pay for your tuition." Richard said, putting a cheeky smirk on his brother's face.

"No ... I won't suggest that, okay? And she wouldn't say yes, that's for sure."

"She will." Lawrence insisted.

"Nope."

"Yes."

"We're talking about the same mother, right? Dude, she said you're going to be back this December."

"I know .... I'm going to miss you." Lawrence mumbled.

"I'll miss you too." Richard said and they did a quick hug.

"I need to meet Julia in person the next time you're here, okay?" Richard asked his brother.

"I'll do my best. Take care of Maine, okay? She's a catch ... you won't find anyone else like her." Lawrence reminded him.

"I will." Richard said with a smile on his face.

"Oh by the way .... Don't get her pregnant ... or get her pregnant? It's up to you, bro. You still have two months, remember?"

"HOY!"

Maine woke up early the next day so she could prepare for her meeting with Mr. Carbungco. She spent the first few hours of her Monday morning forming a kick-ass portfolio. Maine was hoping it would help convince the client that she was the perfect photographer for the job. Suddenly, her phone started ringing. Maine looked at the screen and saw Richard's name. She smiled and answered his call.

"Good mooring, my love." He said in his deep, sleepy and very manly voice.

"Good morning, sexy." Maine replied, teasing him.

"Ay naman ... totoo yun." Richard then said.

"Ang alin?" Maine asked.

"Yung sexy ako."

"Mukha mo. Maaga pa ah? Bakit gising ka na?"

"Napanaginipan kasi kita eh."

"Corny ... edi wow." Maine replied, putting her portfolio right away.
