VI. The House Party

Richard spent the past three days thinking of the perfect revenge plan. He will make her pay for what she did. Richard will get back on Maine for the money and time she wasted all because she thought putting her garbage inside his car was a nice comeback plot. The young model stretched both his arms and legs before he left his bed.

Richard then took off his shirt and wiggled out of his sweatpants. Finally feeling as free as he can be, he walked towards his room's front window and pushed the heavy curtains aside, letting the pleasant warmth of the morning sunshine fill the room.

He then skittered towards the side window and opened it as well. But this time, he saw someone on the other side. Standing in a room perpendicularly parallel to his is Maine, Richard's resident nemesis. His heart drummed against his chest after she got rid of her blouse, baring the hidden light-caramel colored skin underneath. He stood at a wrong position and that gave him away. Maine suddenly whirled around and caught him staring at her. The worst part has got to be the fact that they are both half naked, again. The expression on her face turned from a shocked to an enraged one. She marched towards the window and pulled the curtains together, blocking his view.

Richard smiled suddenly; the perfect revenge plot just entered his mind.

Maine went downstairs with a scowl on her face. Her morning just got ruined by the half naked dreamboat who lives next door. Gabbi quickly noticed her sudden change of mood and asked what happened.

"SI Richard kasi, caught him spying on me again." She said and grabbed her bag on the couch.

"Sus, spying agad? Baka naman napatingin lang." Gabbi replied and they walked out of the house, letting the morning sun greet their skin the moment they stepped onto the patio. Maine put her glasses on right before their Uber ride came. She and her cousin are heading to the mall to see the new campaign of a famous clothing line.

She glared at Richard's car before they were driven away. A few moments later, her phone started ringing.

"Hello, Mommy?" she asked.

"Nak, how are you?"

"I'm alright. I'm with Gabbi at the moment, pupunta kaming mall." She said and rolled the windows up to avoid excessive sunlight from entering their car. Ten minutes later, the call ended and Maine placed her phone inside her bag. She then looked at Gabbi and saw her smiling while reading something on her phone.

"Huy, okay ka lang?" she asked and her cousin's face quickly came to her view. Gabbir curved her lips and smiled. It was one of those moments that Maine will remember for a long time. Not because something special happened to her but because someone close to her heart felt genuinely happy, the kind of happy that only God can break.

"Oo, eto kasi eh." She replied and showed him the picture of a very cute boy. He has long hair, brown eyes, a very prominent nose and naturally pink lips. He also has a hip tattoo in a language Maine couldn't recognize.

"What's his name?" she asked.

"Ruru Madrid." Gabbi replied and giggled after another message came in. Maine on the other hand just rolled her eyes and looked away. She shifted her view from her cousin to the wonderful greeneries around them. She smiled after a rush of positive vibes hit her.

Maine closed her eyes and smiled.

"Darating din yung prince charming mo. Tiwala lang."

Richard spent his last free day in a while preparing for a huge party. He called his friends, ordered a bunch of takeouts and contacted a DJ for later. One sleepless night will be his punishment to Maine for what she did to him. That seemed fair to RJ, mainly because he's unaware of the fact that she has a job interview early morning the next day.
