XLV. - No Matter What -

Realizing what could happen next, both Richard and Maine searched the room for a used a condom. She ignored her throbbing headache and inspected every inch of the room. Maine looked up and saw that Richard was doing the same; he was searching as well.

"Yes!" she heard him yell after a few minutes. Maine turned and saw Richard holding one end of the used condom. She felt relieved and slightly repulsed at the same time.

"You found it." Maine uttered and ran to give Richard a tight hug.

"Nasa likod lang nung bin. You must have overlooked it." He told her.

"Yeah ... I must have." Maine answered. Richard threw the condom inside the trash bin and they hugged each other. Suddenly, they both heard frantic knocks on the door. Maine pulled away from Richard and opened it, only to see the anxious faces of their friends right on the other side.

"What happened?" Gabbi asked.

"Ahh ... may nahulog lang. Si Richard kasi ang likot matulog." She replied and received doubtful looks from their friends.

"Weh? Mamatey?" Gabbi asked.

"Yes." Maine said, starting to blush.

"Eh bakit parang amoy zonrox dito?" Ruru asked.

"Huy!" Richard yelled and everyone laughed, including Maine.

"Baliw ... sige na ... magbibihis muna kami."

"Right .... Wink, wink ... nudge ... nudge ..." Patrik replied with matching body actions. Maine grinned at him and closed the door. She took a deep breath and faced Richard.

"Oh bakit naka-ngiti ka?" she asked, referring to the smug expression on his face.

"Wala ... bakit? Masama ba?" he asked back.

"Hindi naman ... do you think they know?" Maine asked.

"Uh ... I think so ... knowing them ... tag-libog din mga yun."

"Babe!"

"What?" he asked. Maine just sighed and hugged him once more.

"Are you okay?"

"Yeah ... medyo masakit lang ulo ko. Teka ... ligo na ako."

"Sabay na tayo." Richard offered and she looked at him. He flashed his boyish grin, a facial gesture enough to turn her knees into jelly.

"Fine ... ano pa nga ba? May extrang towel ka?"

"Of course ... I came prepared." He replied, grinning at her.

"Sus ... tara na."

After eating their breakfast and going to the lake for one last swim, Richard and his friends started packing their things. He went inside his room and looked at his bed, allowing flashes of his previous night with Maine to cross his mind. Slowly, everything that happened between them started coming back. A smile grew on Richard's face; he finally saw and explored Maine-land.

Suddenly, he heard the sound of knocks coming from right outside the door. Richard shoved his wild thoughts at the back of his head and breathed a sigh.

"It's open, come in!" he called out and the door opened. The caretaker then came in and asked if they were leaving.

"Yes po, thank you sa pag-monitor sa amin." He replied.

"Okay lang yun, iho. Nga pala ... gusto kitang kausapin tungkol kay Ma'am Maine."

"Ah, bakit po?"
