Chapter 9

  Wynter’s POV

My dad. He would scoff that I trusted my master. He would say, and I quote, ‘Wynter. My poor, helpless daughter. Ye need to stand up for yourself when you get a master. To them, we are nutin’ but sacks of warm, gooey, blood.’

I was totally relying on my master. But I could trust him, right? These thoughts ran through my head while we boarded the bus. I was trusting Justin as he handed something to the man sitting at the front of the bus.

I trusted him as he led me past vampires to the back where we sat down.

It was undeniable. I trusted him.

“You can fall asleep.” He said to me. “I’ll keep watch, make sure you don’t get hurt.” He did a weird thing with his eye. He shut one and kept the other open, and then he opened them both.

I let it go, figuring it was some sort of vampire thing.

“Thank you, Justin.” I smiled, suddenly realizing I was tired.

I curled up into a ball and rested against the window.

  Yep, I trusted him.

  Justin’s POV

With Wynter sleeping, I was bored. I sighed, propping my head up with my hands.

“Bored, eh?” A man with blondish whitish hair sat next to me.

I instinctively scooted closer to Wynter.

“Oh, that’s your girl?” He sniffed the air. “Smells like a human.”

“Well, she’s not. It’s not like it’s any of your business anyway.”

“Sorry,” he held his hands up in surrender. He held his hand out for me to shake. “I’m Leo.”

I hesitantly shook his hand. “Justin.”

Leo nodded, kicking his feet up onto the back of the chair in front of him. “So, Justin, where are you going?”

  “Nowhere, really.”

“Mhm,” He looked oddly at me but turned back around. “I, my friend, am on a rollercoaster that only goes up. I am going nowhere but up. I’m am at the top.”

  “You think highly of yourself.”

“How could you not, when you’re this great?” He shrugged.

This dude was not for real. There was something off about him. Looking at him, he looked really familiar.

“What’s your real name?” I asked.

“Leo James Theodore Jr the second.” He said smoothly.

  “Your real name.” I pressed.

“Oh, this is my stop.” He stood up. “Nice talking to you.” He smirked, strolling away and off the bus.

A/N: It’s been too long… *Casts faraway look like a Titanic scene* Haha, really though. We’ll try to update sooner!
