(D/N) POV
18 Years Ago(Y/N) was born in a nearby hospital with a few problems. Being born a bit too early she was very small and weak, but that meant she was that much stronger. She grew fast and became healthy with the help and love from her mother.
(M/N) was the perfect stay at home mother. Everyday I would come home to a perfect meal and a crying (Y/N).
Being the doting and tired father I was, I cared for her when I came home as (M/N) took a break. We'd all end up falling asleep on the same futon and would start the whole day over again.
(Y/N) did sleep in a crib but stayed in the futon with us once she turned one. She always found a way to get in no matter what.
When she started to walk was the worst. She was crazy and pulled everything and wrecked anything. Thankfully it was only a phase lasting a month or two.
(M/N) told me that her friend already had her second child. His name was Natsu and from time to time (Y/N) would play with him.
I certainly didn't like that most of (Y/N)'s play mates were boys, but there was nothing I could do. I was busy at work while (M/N) took her to the park to play.
Zeref was growing fast, already being a smart and know-it-all kind of kid.
(Y/N) was definitely a curious child. She was a mess maker but had the patience to sit and read with me.
When I would get home from work she would cry for me to hold her and read out the words, even if she had no idea what the words meant at the time.
One day (M/N) told me that we should spend some time together on a trip of sorts. Taking the time off was easy but planning a get away was hard.
It became simple enough when (M/N) told me she had a few friends living in the mountains where she grew up. One of her friends named Eileen welcomed us and almost begged to see our little (Y/N).
Finally I gave in to the idea after non stop begging and crying from both (M/N) and (Y/N).
We took the train there and stayed at their inn for three days and two nights. Eileen was ecstatic after seeing (Y/N). Her daughter, Erza, also liked (Y/N) since all she would do was ask her to play knights and dragons.
While Eileen and (M/N) caught up I met Eileen's bastard of a husband. I still hate that man and his five o clock shadow.
But if putting up with him made (M/N) happy, it was worth it.
The trip was relaxing for both me and (M/N) and I wouldn't trade the memories for anything in the world.
"Please tell me you're getting along with Eileen's husband."
I rolled my eyes. "Yes. I am getting along with Eileen's wonderful husband."
It was (M/N)'s turn to roll her eyes. "I know he can be a but terrible but it's important to Eileen. She really wants to make this work."
"Remind me again why she married him?"
We were getting ready for bed with our (Y/N) already passed out on the futon. (M/N) was folding everything around us neatly as I walked to turn off the lights.
