The Fenton Space Shuttle came closer and closer to the big floating building before pulling to a stop. Maddie appeared at the front and addressed the class.
"We'll enter this ghost's lair in a group. Do not separate from the group because it could be dangerous. We don't know anything about this ghost so stay on your toes. We will pass out wrist wrays but don't shoot at random. You may anger the ghost"
A hand shot up, "Why do you shoot randomly then?" Andrew asked.
Maddie opened her mouth to respond but Jack turned from where he was sitting, "Why, we are experienced ghost hunters. We can afford to anger the ghost."
"Exactly," Maddie continued, "however, I see many of you might be too triggerhappy so we will leave the wrist wrays here."
Groans and Dash threw a shoe at the young blond.
"Look who's talking," Sam muttered quietly. Danny heard it thanks to his advanced hearing and agreed.
"Now now. No need for that."
Mr. Lancer spoke up uncertainly, "Will it be safe to enter unarmed?"
"Oh we won't be unarmed. Me and Jack can handle this ghost just fine, don't worry Mr. Lancer. Besides look at the lair closely"
The students squinted their eyes, not really sure what they were looking for.
Maddie continued, "The haunt has ectoplasm surrounding it. It's similar to an aura and how strong it is depends on the ghost. This one has a blue aura which means it belongs to many ghosts. Not just one. So we can be sure that it isn't a dictatorship and there is relative peace."
Danny was impressed. So his parents had learned something from their couple of trips in the Ghost Zone. He would have been worrying if this wasn't Maddie speaking....and if this high school wasn't relatively safe. Except for it being a high school with its usual bullies. However, he didn't know how they would react to humans and what he would do if he met Sidney. He growled. If that obnoxious boy so much as looked at him... Danny calmed himself down. Their rivalry was, after all, only a misunderstanding. He just hoped Sidney didn't reveal his secret.
Jack parked the ship in front of the school entrance. The students whispered among themselves, excited about entering a ghost's lair.
The seatbelts unclipped and they went to stand in front of the door, eager to be the first one out. Danny's seat was already next to the door but instead of staying at the front he pushed his way to where his friends were. Tucker looked at him.
"Hey. Why that face"
Danny hadn't realised he was frowning, "This is the place."
Sam raised an eyebrow, "What place?"
"Where I was pushed into. Remember Sidney Poindexter? With the mirror? We swapped bodies and I was trapped in his world, which is a high school of the 70's!" He whispershouted.
Tucker's eyes widened and he stared at the building, "Oh, that place. Great"
"Wait. Didn't you say he knew you were halfghost?" Sam asked.
Danny nodded, "Yeah. But he only recognised me when I transformed right in front of him so I don't think they know how I look like in human form. Or in ghost form for that matter. They only know that there's a halfa in the human realm."
"Unless Sidney told them"
"He better not have," Danny growled.
Maddie pushed her way through, "Now, kids. Remember, stay together and don't do anything rash. I'm also talking to you, Jack."
