Fenton shivered as he flew deeper in the contaminated aura. Something nagged at him concerning the aura but his mind was set on getting to the sick.

He heard his parents and a few other classmates flying behind him. The ship made its way through the pillars slowly. Tucker took care not to bump into anything.

Fenton somehow found the room again, ignoring all the cries of surprise coming from passing ghosts.

He burst through the doors. "Pandora!!"

The woman jumped startled. "Daniel! Why are you here. I was under the impression only your parents would be here. You know the infection affects all ghosts."

Danny brushed passed her and inspected one of the squirming ghosts. "Agafya! Are you ok? Do they have a cure yet?"

Agafya, who looked to be half the height she used to be before, glanced at Fenton and smiled. "Daisuke...do not worry. I will be alright."

Fenton sighed and held her hand. It felt crusty and dry. Agafya flinched and tried to pull away but Fenton brought it closer to his face, inspecting it.

"You mustn't touch me, Daniel," she said worriedly.

Pandora held his shoulders as the Fenton parents approached.

Fenton shook his head. "The Phantom you saw wasn't a clone. He.....he's my ghost half."

Pandora blinked. "You are fully human now?"

Fenton nodded. "So I probably won't be affected. Hey mom, dad? Can you see if we can do anything?"

Jack immediately leaned forward. His eyebrows were scrunched together as he poked Agafya in different places, earning yelps from the woman. Jack hummed.

"What?" Fenton asked curiously.

Jack grinned. "This is a ghost!"

Maddie sighed as Fenton deflated. She turned to Pandora, looking up at her. "Have you found a cure for this yet?"

Pandora shook her head in desperation. "Last time this happened half the Ghost Zone was affected before we could cut it off. As far as we know, it eats away at our body until it reaches our core. If the poor soul doesn't fade away by then, it chips away at the core's energy until nothing is over."

There was a shocked silence. Nobody said anything until Pandora took a shaky breath.

"All we can do is make them as comfortable as we can and if they won't make it.....end it before it reaches their core. We have done everything we could to restrain the Eduqa but I fear it might be the start of another epidemic."

Fenton shivered and held Agafya's hand tighter. He bit his lip. "How long has it been?"

Pandora hesitated, but eventually the answer escaped her lips. "Two months."

"How many?"

Pandora didn't answer that. She shook her head.

Fenton scowled as tears threatened to fall. "How many, Pandora?"

She locked his helpless eyes with her sorrow filled ones. "We must not dwell on the losses. We must work to save what can we saved."

Maddie nodded firmly. "She's right, Danny. (It's not a typo she just forgets to call him Fenton) We need to figure out a way to help them and that means to keep our minds straight and not lose focus."
