"Detention? Now you're like Salazar and I." Godric said as the four met up for dinner.
Helga rolled her eyes." It's not a good thing Godric. Technically, you were being a wuss about the breaking and entering so she had to take matters into her own hands. You only have yourself to blame." Helga told the cocky Gryffindor as Salazar smirked and snickered.
"So my bidding had cause Rowena to be a bad ass? Sweet."
"Godric!" Helga thundered, turning to Salazar as if waiting for him to back her up.
"Nice one, dude." Salazar responded, giving his best friend a high-five. Helga rolled her eyes and continued to finish her chicken. Rowena couldn't laugh or argue however-- she couldn't believe she'd gotten her first ever detention record, she was hoping to leave the school a teacher's pet.
However, lashing out at her sister after all these years felt good, she felt free. Yes, she might have became a bad ass, but so what? This... exhilaration, adrenaline that had made her scream at her sister in front of everyone, the fact that she had gotten punished for doing what she needed and wanted to do-- it felt great. Amazing. And she wasn't afraid to break the rules again.
"I have to go, it's a quarter to five. Plus, Professor Lilac's office is quite far from the dinner hall." She said to her friends, earning a smile from each before heading off to the her favourite professor's office.
Professor Lilac was the strictest teacher-- many students and fellow teachers admired yet feared her. Despite her gentle, angelic name, she wasn't a woman to mess with. So when Rowena knocked on the oak wood door and was told to come in, she couldn't help but have a little bit of fear inside of her.
"Ms Ravenclaw."
"Professor Lilac."
The room was quite dark, candles floating mid air. There was a tall bookcase behind her desk where she was seated at, filled with books of all magical and non-magical sorts. A separate desk and chair was placed at the side of the professor's, which already had a quill, a bottle of ink and some parchment.
A snowy owl sat in the corner, its blue eyes just like Professor Lilac's, and they watched Rowena, fixated. Then the professor spoke.
"Sit down, Ms Ravenclaw."
Rowena sat down at the desk and placed both hands on the table. She didn't like the eerie, dark feeling the room gave her, she didn't know that Professor Lilac's office would be this... mysterious.
"What do you want to be in the future, Rowena?"
Rowena had been caught off guard-- what did she want to be when she grew up and came of age? She would be okay being a simple housewife to four children, it had been her dream. But then, all her time of studying, inventing, creating-- she wanted to pass it on. Share her knowledge and teach her ways. But she wanted a future with her friends. Her friends, who might not want to be teachers pr be in the schooling business.
"I don't know, Professor. But I do know I want my friends to be in my future." She responded truthfully, hoping she could find solace in her teacher who was supposed to be giving her detention.
Professor Lilac looked down at her papers before she smiled, and looked back at the girl, more friendly in the face." Your friends have similar wants and dreams too."
She stood up and waved her wand, and wisps of light came about, forming Rowena's four friends and their aspirations.
"Ms Hufflepuff wanted to teach the kind, the good, the loyal, and have children of her own ro do the same. She wanted her four friends in her future, teaching alongside her, sharing heir take on life with the students as well. Although, she had imagined Mr Slytherin a little closer to her than the rest." She laughed softly at that, before continuing." She wanted to have a school with her friends, each educating the students on what they know best, on what they're take on life is."
The light Helga was standing, running around from student to student, helping them and smiling when she does. With a flick of her wand, Professor Lilac address Salazar next.
The light Helga looks up and an accurate representation of Salazar, and Helga's point of view disappears and forms Salazar's, which showed students, him teaching, nothing unusual. Except, he didn't have the happy face Helga had.
"Salazar's ambition was also a school, to lead in his own way. However, it wasn't fully his wish. His bloodline."
The light had diminished, and Professor Lilac looked at her student sadly.
"They call themselves pure-bloods, and his mother is a bloodthirsty--no pun intended -- one. She wanted her son to spread the legacy of only educating those of the highest blood standard. And so his aspiration isn't his."
The light Salazar sat down, frustrated, as if he can't do this anymore...
"He wanted his friends to do it for them. He wanted to stay away from the craft, but because it was inevitable, he needed to do it with his friends."
Three light figures appear, walking to the sad Salazar, and he smiles, and Rowena smiles at them, too.
Professor Lilac waves her wand again and the light Godric is alone, bearing a sword and killing horrible looking creatures of the light with a sword that Rowena recognised as the one his unknown father had given him at his birth.
"This young lad, who finds interest in you, I believe, wants to educate students on defence. Physically of course. He believes that the brave at heart deserve to pursue the quality they possess , as well as others he values, qualities his friends possess."
With another wave of her wand, Professor brings the young girl's attention back to herself. She sat down at her desk and looked at Rowena, her smartest student, her prized student.
"I believe you want to do the same, Ms Ravenclaw."
Rowena smiled and nodded at her teacher.
"For fourteen-year-olds, you lot are quite a bunch, I must say." Professor Lilac said." That is all for detention, Rowena dear. Now off to bed, and no more trouble must arise from you."
