Song for the chapter: Thousand Years by Christina Perrie~
"I'm going to get some Butterbeers for us."
It was such a beautiful day, it would be a shame to stay inside all day, wasting away in faux lighting. But the four had to sacrifice this time of precious sunlight in order to fill in the many forms and certificates and so many other things.
It was then that Flaura Mae decided she had to answer other impending issues and, as she was pretending to be her sister, she decided that she needed to 'restock on Butterbeer'.
As soon as she was out of sight of the others, she changed into herself and ran down the steps two or three at a time, running around the school's many corridors and shifting staircases just to find the final marble staircase at the bottom floor. She raced out of the building, heading to the town.
She entered the little Portuguese pub, and ordered a four large jugs of Butterbeer from the man at the counter. The owner had gotten married, and Flaura knew that she was Salazar's cousin. Their bloodline was expanding, and not in the way she knew Mariana Slytherin would like.
Almost immediately after she sat down, Ophichus had entered the puv. Despite being the new him-- all powerful and almighty-- he seemed extremely nervous as he waited for Flaura's intense decision that would change the lives of everyne forever.
Not like she knew that, anyway.
"Hey," she whispered as he slipped into the seat opposite her. They were in their favourite booth, one that they would always visit as kids and even now, in this dark times.
"I take it that you have called me here due to the fact that you have reached a decision, I presume?"
She nodded anxiously, swallowing the lump that had formed in her throat. "Ophichus, you're family is one of great power and they have so many achievements-- and you are about to complete yours, ours."
Ophichus raised his brow; he was flattered by this, but he knew there was a catch. There was always a catch.
"I want to join that legacy --not necessarily the family, of course-- by making the biggest achievement ever, or at least one that will prove everyone wrong with my dying breath. And how can I achieve that?"
Ophichus remained quiet. "I need to complete the goals I set for myself the moment Rowena bested me."
He knew what words would come out of her mouth, but was hoping that her morals, her humanity would come back-- bring her back to him.
"I need to take everything she loved, wanted-- the school, her friends, her authority... and you know that includes--"
"Godric," He finished, sighing and leaning bacck in his seat. More people were entering the bar, and they both lifted their hoods to shadow their faces in their already shadowed corner. He looked at Flaura, eyes filled with sadness. He didn't know what to say. Hurt her, or hurt himself?
"I'm sorry, Ophichus," she pleaded as he stood up and started to swiftly walked out.
"Maybe next time..." she said to herself as she watched his sulky figure saunter out of the pub.
"Miss, your Butterbeers." The waitress smiled at her, and Flaura smiled back. Despite never seeing her face, the waitress had a bond with Flaura.
She took Ophichus' seat and looked at Flaura. She squirmed under her gaze but decided not to show the waitress her vlnerability. She was her friend, after all-- right?
The waitress sighed and shook her head. "He really loves you, you know?"
Flaura jerked-- she knows?
The waitress laughed. "Don't worry, I don't eavesdrop. But body language does wonders." She winks and Flaura, reassured, smiled and laughed along with her.
"Thank God," she muttered. The waitress recomposed herself. "But I can see that he loves you, and I heard what you said. 'Maybe next time'? "
Flaura ooked at her lap, playing with her fingers. "There will be no next time, my dear. If you truly love someone--"
"Rose, love! Table four!"
The waitress, Rose, sighed and got up from her seat. She did not say a word anymore, but gave Flaura a look to tell her to reconsider her options.
"I'll love you forever, Ophichus."~
A/N
I know this chapter is short, but the previous chapter was longer than usual. Also, this chapter was going to be shorter but I added the waitress for a bit of doubt to make Flaura reconsider XD
Love,
Anna
